this is a pic of the dash I made too, its kinda different, made from the door skin of a late 80s pickup, still kind of rough havent taken the time to finish it up yet but I think its pretty cool.

Why not describe the process of turning a door into a dash for us??? Did you just pull the skin off and put it in a roller???

sorry, really didnt think of describing the process. I got the door from a body shop -freebie. measured and cut out a portion that already had a slight radius. Then I slowly rolled the metal by hand, just bending it and rolling it on a table no machine work at all. I test fit it alot and just kept making small adjustments when it was close I cut a couple of small paterns for the edges and then cut metal plates to fit, tack welded em, sanded and a lil glazing compound, lil primer and voila. I primered it like the rest of the body and used sheetmetal screws to attach it and mark it temporarily, still needs a lil tweaking but its close to the look I want, will just be 3 gauges in the center, might scrape the money to have it pinstriped, thats about it. Hope I didnt drag out the process description too much it was simple just time consuming heres a side pic also

Looks pretty smooth for rolling it by hand. The sheet metal screws kinda take away from it, though. What's your long term plan for attaching it to the car???

Yeah the screws look like crap, I plan to rivet it in place along the top smooth the surface and fill the holes, and when I'm ready to add my wood to the body I plan to fiberglass it in place along the underneath sides, I left tabs for this purpose, I can glass it in, add some screws in case it seperates, and it will be covered by the upholstery
