Nice collection of Hisso powered cars. For those that don't know a Hisso was the nickname for the Hispano-Suiza V8 that powered WWI aircraft. It had an overhead cam on each bank, if you cut one on half and made a four banger out of it, it became a "Half-a-Hisso".
Since when were modifieds a fad?

There have been a whole lot of modifieds put together in the last 5-10 years. ....a lot more than were put together in the previous 30 years.
The first nice one that I can remember seeing was the year that the NSRA Street Rod Nationals were in Columbus, OH (1996?). There was one there that drew a pretty big crowd. ....in the following years, more showed up.
In the history of "street rods", they are a fad, much the same as "rat rods". I like cool sh*t whether it is popular or not. I'm not trying to piss anybody off.

Some interesting things being built down Argentine way.
Here's the link (originally from HackerBill) to an outfit building "racers" from big old late 20's iron.
