I was really bummed about cancelling the grand opening party but this helped bring me back up. Our house was part of a 250 acre ranch and I met the original owner yesterday. He has piles of stuff all over the place. He gave me these gas pumps! I don't know anything about them 'cept they have "04/41" stamped on them. Think they are kinda cool. If you know about these feel free to chime in.
But there is more to this story. Seems the old guy liked to bury stuff. In the front yard he buried "5 old '30s Ford coupes" he said plus a roadster he tossed over a cliff. I think I'll get my shovel out. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

These F*&KERS are heavy! I figure about 450 lbs each. Don't have to hide them. Nobody could ever carry them off! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Those pumps are prolly "Gilbarco" pumps circa mid to late 50's and up. I don't know if "gilbarco is still in bussiness, but they might have a webb site if they are.

Yep...that's the name on them. Made in Toronto.
There is a little metal tag from Measures Canada with 03/53 then 05/56 punched in it. The patent tag reads 1941. Cool find or what?. They're complete right down to the nozels and the paper maintence instructions on the inside of the door.
Thanks for the info. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
As for the other buried junk, so far I found a model T roadster door rusted in two (was in the creek), a side shift 3 spd FoMoCo trans, a busted flattie head and rusty steel wheel. Talk about a treasure hunt. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Or a buried nightmare!
We live in the top of the Sonra Desert so everything is bone dry...perhaps it's worth digging!

Why in the hell would someone bury coupes....If I lived there, it would bug the crap out of me to try to at least see em....just for curiosity sakes. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

At night, if you're quiet, you can hear them rusting...
Our yard is gonna look like a bomb testing site! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Why would you toss a roadster off of a cliff? Sounds like you might wanna use that metal detector on the old guy's head...
Anyway, looks like you got some niiiiice digs up there in Canada. Good luck with your treasure hunt! C'est bon!
