New updates on the www.salt2salt.com (http://www.salt2salt.com) site
These boys have really read the rulebook, doing everything right without a big ass sponsor.
And picked a good class, bringing two motors, both Stude, one turbo
Shows what a little gang can get done without too much money.

I had a set of those Empire Strikes Back sheets when I was a kid... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I love that body style... there's a house here that the guy has like 4 of them bodies just rotting away... the last time the house went up for sale I was gonna buy it (the first time I looked at it, it was listed at $159,000) but the fuckers jacked it up to $400,000!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif For a hunnert year old farmhouse with a couple acres... but they left the studes and the new owner has em now. Wonder if he'll sell em... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had a boss many years ago that used to race Bonneville in a car very much like that. And on a low budget. He LOVED doing it even on a budger. I had the chance to buy a couple of rusty old Studes from him and didn't take the chance. Now the prices are insanely high for two doors and I wish I had taken him up on it.

RocketJ2, you gotta go buy those things man. If you got them for the right deal you might keep one and pay for it by selling the rest if they are two doors.

All of them are two doors. It's right down the street from my high school (ex) girlfriends house, so I got to see them when they were "decent" (15 years ago) and watch them return to earth... when the wife gets home I'll leave the boys with her and "take a ride". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here is a picture from 3 weeks ago of a car that we plan to run this year at Bonneville. It is now painted from the firewall back and I will paint the rest tomorrow or Tuesday. The windows are also in. We have a lot to do in the next four weeks but it is doable.

Does anybody remember the Kamboor-Sanchez and Ewell Studebaker. It was one of my all time favorite hot rods. Over the years it sort of morphed into a quasi-streamliner then it seemed to disappear. Wha Hoppen?

You may check the RRT board for some updates on WZ's brothers stude. I have seen some posts on it over there and I think here also.

B competion coupe I think(I am just the body man and general flunky) 406 injected on Alcohol. This year the plan is to get the car teched and the driver licensed. It will only be finished enough to make some passes and not a real clean smooth Bonneville car.

I believe Neil Thompson has the car ..It was featured in Rodder's Journal a couple of issues back. I'm attaching a link to a picture of my Bonneville project, its a few years into the complete rebuild. I'm jumping up to B/C Fuel Altered so I needed it to be right.

They would enjoy reading any posts about this over on Racing Studebakers, too.

I when over there to se Hoolys Stude and what did i see. Two threads about my Vega of all things. Looks like the Stude guys are much more forgiving of transgression than the HAMB guys.

Anybody? Here is all that I can find:

I'd like to find photos of the underside of the chassis showing details of the set-back front-blown Hemi.

There is a thread on here somewhere that featured the Sanchez Stude, I think that Dean Lowe reported that John Edmunds totaled it at the salt...(I saw it run in '59, the year before the radical chop, then it was at a show at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium after the chop...like you, it was one of my favorite Bonneville cars...
