I am 45 years young and have been building cars on and off for 29 years. I have always had a project in the garage since I was 16. My first was a '30 model A Ford Coup. I've built T's, A's, a '55 Chevy, Trucks of every type and a few muscle cars including a '67 Camaro and a '69 Chevelle SS race car. Although my new project is not a traditional hot rod or custom it will be heavily influenced by them.

I'm currently building a '54 VW beetle on a tube chassis, 6" narrowed MII front end and the rear suspension is made up of S-10 4x4 front spindles and hubs, home made control arms and will ride on air bags. The 1.8L 4 banger is in the middle using and Audi A4 transaxle. It's not anything close to a traditional rod but I get inspiration from them. Street rods and hot rods have always been my first love. I just got a little side tracked with the VW thing so I thought I would do something really different.
There's so much good stuff here so I'll just lurk for a while unless I have something to contribute.

I just designed the front cross member in CAD using the dimensions from El Polacko's post on here. Great write up!

That thing would be badass with a '60s Tornado/El Dorado transaxle in it. Welcome aboard.
