NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo.....
Ah shit! That really blows..He usta come down to Smarty's drive-in on cruise nights in G.P.once in awhile.
He'll really be missed. I wonder if somebody else will pick up the green truck and make smoke with it again...
My brother thought the sun rose and set in the crack of his ass....this is real bad news.

From what I've heard he had already handed the reins down to a young guy that worked on his crew, they've done a lot of work on thier turbos & it's said that the truck will do 325 on paper, be nice to see that happen, that was Carl's dream, to go 300 in the Phoenix, he will be sadly missed by those of us lucky enough to have known him.

Lemme tell ya, watching that big old green brick run 275 or so at Bonneville made me wonder what that motor could have done in a streamliner. I didn't know Carl but felt honored to see him run. Wayno

Jeez, I was just watching him the other night on Discovery on a show about Bonneville. I even remember watching them film Carl in 01'.

Godspeed Carl and I am sure there are a few tug boat motors in the sky.

I feel so fortunate to have seen you folks run that truck at Bonneville. Since my first visit in 1998 the Phoenix and her crew have been a highlight of the trip.
Best wishes to all the Phoenix family.

My condolences also. Watching that big green cornbinder smoking down the line was one of the highlights of the salt. When that thing ran, everyone stopped what they were doing to watch it go by. And if you couldn't see it from where you were, you'd just close your eyes and listen...

Your Dad made a lasting impression on a lot of people. When someone mentions Phoenix, or I read it I think of your Dad and that green truck with a plume of black smoke flying over the salt.

Welcome to the HAMB...Sorry it's on such a sad occasion, but we hope you stick around.

I had only ever seen the truck in magazines & on tv/video.

Godspeed to your Father, and we look forward to seeing the truck run again...one day.
