so my car looks like its lowered..i was told the shocks and springs were bad when i bought it.i just need to make sure its both or just one,or see what i should replace first.

here is the deal.i go over speed bumps and bottom out in the front.after the rear gets over it just bounces like crazy.on the road i dont feel many bumps, they pretty much get bounced out i would guess.

now in sept my dad is going to come out to phoenix and drive the wagon back to michigan.and i want to stiffen it up a bit.would beable to get away with just shocks?im not worried too much about ride height.

what shoould i do?

Go to any of the BAP dealers in town and pick up a set of KYBs for it. I'm not sure which ones you want, but they should be around $25. That way, if you don't need the new springs, you would have had to buy new shocks, anyway.

If you need new springs, go to Valley Spring. I went through this shit a few months ago and called all over the country, Valley had the most reasonable price, plus no shipping, AND he said that if it didn't sit right when I put them in, he'd lower/raise as needed one time.

Gas shocks will surely stiffen things up.

Never use air or gas shocks as a way to adjust ride height though. Dampening members are not meant to be supporting members. I know. I tried. You will snap shock bolts soon enough. For a ride height adjustment you gotta mess with the springs.

Sounds like you just want to stop the bouncing though. Non gas charged shocks will do just fine too.

The spring takes care of the ride height and the preload of the spring prevents the bottoming out.

And the shocks takes care of the bouncing, so if you have a bounce problem get new shocks, try some from a car with the same weight and mounting. Or heavier if you have short suspension travel.
