I dont know how to post the whole thing but the # is: 2535387049, It is listed under Parts cars!!
I guess people are not looking there, not to many bids.
If this was some HAMBers little secret, I apologize.
If not, It should go to a HAMBer.

I cant find it are you sure about the number?

I don't want to turn this into a huge issue, but I've got my eye on something right now that is listed incorrectly and the photo is kind of jacked too so it's hard to tell exactly what you're looking at. It's cheap and hidden well for now but I'd be more than a bit bummed if a heads up was given here - being kind of a key part for a project and all.

And in a wierd way I'd be more pissed if the post ended with an apology to my deal getting screwed. Just post it. No big deal really. I've had my share of deals for a while. Oh...and that item number doesn't work.

I understand what you are saying Grimlok. But I'd rather piss somebody off than have something like that slip away.

That thing being in Michigan oughtta fetch a pretty penny...they don't just grow on trees here, ya know!

It'll be fun to watch this one!!!!

Can you go get it for me Fat Hack?

Fat Hack
10-02-2003, 11:22 PM
Will it fit in a standard Ford van?

If so, then it can be arranged...but it's a gas pig...you might be better off having it shipped???

(I could also probably borrow a pickup if needed...PM me if you need any help. Port Huron is only up the road a ways!!)

Understood. At least it's good to know there are still deals to be had - and I'm happy to have had some rediculously good ones lately.

Edit - And what really sucks after reading that last exchange between you and F-Hack means you may have just cost yourself that coupe if you were seriously going to buy it.

Hey FH - did you scrounge up a Briggs motor yet? I'll be okay with a three horse if I can get ahold of another one I may have found here - and I'll run both of them together as a sort of "Ivo" setup - you'll see. Let me know. That trans is sitting in the corner with your name on it.

I'm probably just dreaming. For wat it is, and where it is, I can't see how that thing would not be out of my leaque.
If it is not... Well, I guess I'm still dreaming.

I'd love to haul it for ya, but gas money for THAT trip would break ya!!!

Rail freight might be your cheapest option if there is a railroad depot somewhat near you and the seller will work with you a little.

that thing probably wont break five grand. The back shot of it is whacked and the bottom of the car isnt even pictured.

Thanks Fat Hack, Hopefully I will not do something stupid in the next couple of days (like bid on it).
So then I dont have to take you up on that.
It just would be nice if it went to one of us.(next best thing)

Now that you mention it, yeah the itch is very painful.

I can afford the $500 bucks, just not the legal fees when the lovely wife divorces me.

This one needs to be in Low N Louds garage!

I kinda agree with Grimlok on his point. That is why I post Epay links that are listed wrong 10 minutes before the auction ends. That way who ever is online can look and get. It amazing how many "Lurkers" click this board daily. I posted something a while back about epay with a couple of hours left til' it ended and for 6 and 1/2 days it had 121 looks, after I posted it here, it had over 2000 looks within a couple of hours and I don't think a HAMBer got it.

Just a little FYI about the power of the HAMB and it's lurkers with alot more coin in their pocket than me.

Oh yea, on the topic of mis-listed. Are these the "Famous" LaFrance Headlights?

http://i3.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/a9/50/07_1.JPG

I watched them sit under $200 coin on Epay and then they sold for around $500.

Friend of mine found some obscurely listed La France head lights on Ebay. Picked them up for 15 bucks. Sold them 2 weeks later on Ebay, they were bid up to $1700. He had no idea what they were when he bought them.

I fell asleep and woke up at 1:00 and found out it was over and I was not the high bidder. I dont know how sniper's programs work but it went up to that in the last minute. I was a grand short... fucking idiot. Volkswagen bugs cost more than that! It went for three grand and that boys is dirt cheap. I feel like an ass. My wife seems real happy though, cant figure out why

Next time I will just put in what I think its worth and wait and see if I win.... I'm not smart enough for all the games

If everybody uses a sniper program, isn't that just like an off site proxy????

I emailed the coupes owner to see if I could stop by and get a look...(only two hours away)...no answer. I also checked his other auctions to see If I recognized the location, since I lived in Port Huron from 82 to 93...no such luck. Being a michigan car, it could be a "see thru" model. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif...most everything here over ten years old is scrap.

Atleast you dont go by 4madpoodle!

Wouldn't sweat it, you can always snag the next one. Probably dont need 2 model 40's anyway.

Slamchop,

Just read the post, very glad it went to a HAMBster. I got mine on the road fairly recently. It was in similar shape to the one you just picked up. I collected parts for about 6 years and it took about a year to build it. It cost me less than $10,000 and it was a heck of alot of fun. Not sure if you've built one, but I would suggest picking up a donor 40-48 Ford sedan to snag parts off of (column, brakes, wheels, maybe even tranny, motor and rear axle). When it comes to the grill shell, be patient. I found a really nice one on Ebay for about $600. For $600 bucks at a swap meet you normally find crap. Let me know if I can help you out.
