Damn, I never ever see a Daddy-O piece I don't like...Jester, I dig the bronze background piece, BTW, I thought the design on your card idea was cool, fuhgettabout what it might look like (finger, vag, whatever)...man, run with it!!

Anyway, I don't wanna let the cat outta the bag, so here's just a piece of the larger picture I'm sending the Von Tingler for his Kentucky show in August....dig!

We're pumped in Calgary, Bonneville is a month away and Brush has thrown his support behind the North of 49 Crew.

Earlier this year Brush opened a training camp for Canadian beaver, the results seen in our beaver after a winter spent training in Ontario are astounding!
http://www.fsra.org/n49/beaver.gif

After getting our beaver into shape for Bonneville Brush went to work on North of 49 itself. The truck really came to life in his hands and is going to be jumping off T-shirts all summer! (We're working on producing them now)

Thanks Brush! The North of 49 Crew is thrilled to have you aboard!

Surf Monkey, for the most part models are painted and then assembled. Oh by the way I really liked your renderings this week!
I wrote all this out and then go to my photo site and it is under maintenance. So no image. Later maybe

Surf Monkey...those are awesome. I used to think I could draw! Haha...amazing stuff.

The model question...

The only thing that gets glued together before paint are things that come in halves. For example the engine block/transmission (I usually glue the heads on too). Usually the seats are like that as well. I do that so I can blend in the separation lines and make it look like one piece. Otherwise, I just clean up the casting lines and paint.

Occasionally there's a part or two I paint after installation. The pulley and belt assembly to name one.

Finished this one earlier this week. I quite like the rear 'bumper', but i cant remember where it came from, it was a whole bumper that i took middle section out, and recessed into the body, then extended the bottom of the car to fit the bumper better. 59 Chevy caps with WWW out of the '50 ford kit. Motor is a Small block ford (all i had!)

Last weekend I went to my buddy Bruce's house to stripe some scallops he had just laid out on a '58 wagon. I was supposed to letter the tailgate anyway, so I brought all the supplies to do both jobs.
Green scallops striped in Dark Magenta, The tailgate was done in 23K gold leaf with a Process Green/ Primrose Yellow outline.

Hey Unk,
I used to get regular emails from Linda, but I'm not sure I sent her my new email address. I wasn't aware that they weren't having the jam this year. I hope everything is ok. Feel free to email me if you have any details.
Thanks.

Better late than never I guess.Been in New York all week and this piece was something I refined for a friend. He painted it for his Dad fo a birthday present.A piece of aluminum from the side of an aircraft primed and a pinup painted on.I added some detail to the pinup and added the lettering and bombs.

..OK......I've been wearing Vans shoes since 1975. There was a time when that was weird, then a time when it was cool and now.......a time when it's "Old School." I check their site from time to time. They have "Limited Edition" slip ons. I have bought a few pair of them. They now have a "Design your own" page. I designed these "Rat Rod" slip-ons............

......yea......back in the "day," several skate shops special ordered color combos for their teams. These, you can order one pair and select the color of EACH part of the shoe! Mine are black with red striping.......... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
