Of speed and seashells
Some of you may know who Frank Lockhart was. If you don't...
Think Craig Breedlove, Think Mickey Thompson. Think 1928!
Lockhart piloted and designed a good bit of the Stutz Black Hawk.
This car could arguably be called a hot rod. Imagine gearing two straight eights together.
Add superchargers intercoolers and advanced areodynamics.
Sounds like a Bonneville car to me, but it never ran on the salt.
I've wanted do art on this car for a long time. Here's what I did with it.
PS. If you don't get the seashell inference.
Please read the additional text.
It tells quite a story.

I'm actually on top of this for once and have something ready to show. I'm emptying out my inventory of framed prints from the summer car show season here in MI. It's a chance to grab a Caddillac for the price of a Yugo.

Now that the new mag's done, I can finally get back to doing a couple more tee-s. Long live the 10 minute t-shirt design. Hope to have this one printed in time for the Mooneyes show.

Damn....I'm early to the show this time!
Here are a few paintings for this week, which some of you may recognize, along with an an old photograph belonging to a friend of mine, Steve Carlson. The gentleman wearing the leather helmet is Steve's uncle, Ray carlson. This photo was taken at Muroc in 1938 and that roadster ( I'm told) has a V-8. Just thought my fellow HAMBers would get a kick out of it :D

I hope to be able to focus some of you guys in a self published zine I am going to try later on - it may happen - it may not - but I REALLY love the art stuff - almost as much as the cars.........

Early 60's sci-fi styling at its best!
Allegedly, two were built.

surf monkey... your a smart ass....with a horribly mutated head (at the moment)...how the eye???
just so you ll know Surf monkey (Tim) got some crap in his eye a couple of weeks ago..... dispite advice like "get your skinny ass down the docs" from all and sundry he insisted it would go away by it's self....it didn't....now he looks like the elephant man...
if you get crap in your eye go to the docs ...it's not a good look just ask Tim

Ryzart, check out your logo on our robotics Team Polo shirt. The Tee shirts are in work and will have an 11" version of the more detailed Broncotronic Horse head on them. Moms and Dads that have seen them like them a lot (and are paying the bills for them). The team members also like them as do the administrators.
We will have one of each for you as soon as they are complete. Thanks again for putting your talent to work for our high school!

Man, too much great stuff to keep up with. I had a car done but have
decided to hold off on posting it for a while as I've joined forces with a
fellow HAMBer on a secret project based on the sketch. I could, however,
post some pin-up sketches if that passes the mustard.
Coop the helmet is BOSS !!!

Thanks!
The show is called "Somewhere over the ocean, somewhere under the sea ".

Jigger,
I think the pipes are soon to be on the way. I had them section the front ones to save $50 shipping. You can slide them back together and weld them I am sure. They were originally for a 70 but will fit the 69. I will send you the part number for the hangers you need to get.
UberMustang, your work is staggering!!

Von Hartmann....
I just realized that I missed the chance to meet you at the Hunnert.
damn.
I left at the same time you were leaving - I was about to pull off of the grass when you pulled up, I let you go past to take a look at the Abomination. I never made the connection that you were the owner or that you were at the show.
Would have been cool to chat.
I am stunned every time you put graphite to paper.
Hey, thanks man. I'll probably see you around at another show. I barely finished/got the car on the road for the end of the summer. I should have gotten over to the HAMB meet and greet. There was almost too much to look at there.

Some killer work this week (and every week) guys! I finally have been working on another 3D model after finishing the '59 El Camino. check it out... not quite done yet, but close.
http://www.virtualkustoms.com/images/DeuceCover.jpg
Done in 3D Studio Max.
This piece was loosely inspired by Nacho Gonzalez's killer 35 Ford found in RJ 37. I decided to cut up a 35-36 Ford sedan. Once the roof rack and surf boards went on, wood paneling had to follow.
COOP, I don't even know what to say. Can't wait for the next book.
Hidden is your website busted? I want to see more of your work. Love the line work man!
Everyone else as usual great stuff!

I said it earlier, but again, great freaking show this week!
I dig your digital painting And. Really cool color choice too.
On my part, I reworked my painting form last week and gave it some rough edges, and I set up a gallery (http://www.zazzle.com/phil_arj*) on Zazzle.com: www.zazzle.com/phil_arj* (http://www.zazzle.com/phil_arj*)
If you want to get a print you can choose the size, the paper and the frame for a reasonable price.
You can even get real stamps which will be useful for all these cards you'll have to send to the family very soon.
Zazzle is a really cool tool if you want to sell some of your work. Check it out !
