Anyone heard how Carl, "286 merc" is doing lately?? He had that fall a few months ago and busted himself up. Haven't seen a post from him in a LONG time.
Hope he's doing well. -Keith

I did see him last month hobbling around at the monthly swap meet. He was busy with customers and I never got back to talk to him.

That's good to know.
He disappeared from every website--ones he would be posting on daily--in April. I was getting a little worried, and recently I actually searched his home town obituaries!
He's a great guy, and has a wealth of knowledge that he happily shares with everyone who asks. I hope he gets back on his computer soon.

Yeah, he's a good guy for sure...
Doesn't anyone live close enough to take a "Sunday drive" over to see how he's doing?

I sent him an Email about a month & a half ago inquiring about getting some zero rust & I asked him where he'd been & if everything was alright but I go no response. I hope he did'nt die or something.

This reminds me of a friend I met through Ebay once. We bought & sold a few pieces to each other and ended up pretty good friends. Emailing each other, talking cars & antique toys often. He passed away one day and his brother emailed to let everyone in his addresss book know.
I never met him face-to-face or even spoke to him on the phone. His passing really was weird for me. I didn't know the sound of his voice or what he looked like, but he was a friend.
Hopefully 286merc is OK.

Well, Great news! Carl Is doing just fine.
I have just received the attached email from him.
I guess he's just been real busy in the garage.
and we should be doing the same.............
Thanx for the concern Rick and all the others. Im doing much better on the
leg, pretty much back to normal. No cane; just a little limp. Doing a lot of
exercise to build back the muscles.
Got so far behind on shop work I just went cold turkey on all the forums. Hope
to show up again soon. Please let all know Im OK.

I think Bruce hit the nail on the head.
He figured out he can get a hell of alot more done by staying away from the computer. Maybe we oughta do the same....
I'm glad he's OK, he's a damn good guy.
