Need BSA help!!

I'm pretty new to Brit Bikes but need some help with a 1969 441 Victor. I was wondering if I could use a weld on hardtail section on this bike that is made for 60's BSA twins or will it not work on the single?

you could weld on a hardtail,but only if you want people to make fun of you for riding a chopped 441...
