I am the slackass who just put up the gasser post. I should have some manners and introduce myself. Name is Ron Garrett but you might now me as Scoob. Seems I have met a lot of you before and dealt with lots of you on Ebay or other places. I am in Indy and have too few garages...not too many cars.
Still have a 53 Studebaker Gasser with a Hilborn Injected Nailhead and a 59 Ford F100 with a 6 deuce FE. Some other project cars that will never see completion at my house are a 68 Eldorado and a 53 Packard ragtop. I'll get some pictures up later so you can berate me or praise me accordingly. I need a little of both.
Dig the site and glad to see so many guys helpin each other out and bustin chops along the way. I'll be off line for a couple days with the move but wanted to let you know who the dumbass selling the gasser is.

Not yet! It's good to be here. I am off to the other house with no computer but better garages. I'll check back in a few days. Thanks for the nudge.

dude!
Scoob was my best friend/partner in crime our freshman year of college. I haven't seen/heard from him in several years when I get an email about the pics I took of his gasser at the Road Rockets show. By the second email, we realized who each other were and I nearly crapped my pants. Small fucking world. And we didn't even run into each other all weekend!
It's my fault he has the "sickness" now. hehehe. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif While he was getting me drunk and getting me into trouble, I was giving him the gearhead disease. Damn, that's been 11 years ago! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

DJANGO!!!
I am of course at a public library on company time right now to check out the e-mail in the midst of my no-computer move. Yeah, I think this all started with a 1952 Cadillac limo I parked at your house around 1989. It has gotten worse from then. Cool stuff keeps finding me and begging me to take it home. Hence the move to "Garaj-Mahal". I actually found a house here in Indy with an attached 5 car garage and workshop. There is a whole house attached to it for my wife but I've never been in there. I don't really like to go through doors you have to get out of your car for.
I saw your website and your chevelle looks sweet now and I am glad to hear that you weren't content with a measly 427 cubic inches when you could have 461 and shatter the rearend. Good form I say.
The Gasser is an illusion...sort of. I found it in Springfield Illinois a year ago in May. It was a cool old custom that the guy was putting a new tuck and roll into. Shame because the old dirty one was badass and the package tray and visors are all that is left. I love em dropped, with white walls, and all of that, but it seems like all the 54's are that way so I wanted something a little different. So I gassed it up a bit...then it got pretty out of control. There is nothing on the car newer than 1961 except the tires and brakes. I worked my ass off and emptied my wallet to get it that way. HUGE THANKS to Tommy Culbertson for all of his hard work too. This guy is my hero. There are a lot of great guys that I didn't know were hambers that I met at the show and online since then. I think my friend Dick York is a hamb guy too? If you ever need carb help, he is the God. Fantastic guy.
I despise ebay but I make a lot of money there and find some pretty neat stuff that would otherwise take years of combing swap meets to find (which is handy when you are trying to find nailhead parts for your 53 studebaker). Can't wait to get a computer back at home and see what everybody is building on here. There are some amazing cars on here from what I have seen. Good to hear from you and I hope to make it to Chicago for your show (get that website finished!!!!) Thanks to all for the good words and cool cars.

hey Ron. Welcome. I, too, live in Indy and am frequently seen with a couple of them Road Rocket hoodlums. In fact, Tom was did a little tweaking on my car while your gasser was in the shop. So I saw it before the show. That's one tough cookie of a car.
And most importantly, let me know if you're ever letting any of those nice vehicles go.
Mike

Welcome Ron. Don't know if I ever met you. Probably have and forgot!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Old guy syndrone. I saw your gasser in Toms shop a couple of times and also at the rumble. I drive the black deuce sedan with "Stray Kat" on the cowl. I'm also a Indy hi-Winder. You see me somewhere come up and say Howdy.

I saw the cars at the rumble but I can't remember names or faces very well. Mike, I think I know you from Tom's and Andy, I am not sure we've met but I do know your cool car. Brett, I know and good to hear from you. Django was a wild blast from the past. Great website to meet and remeet good people. I don't have any pictures of the studebaker but most of that car is at Tom's right now with the Gasser and the Packard as I am still in the midst of moving. I'll try to get some pictures up but I have trouble with them being too large to load onto this site and don't know how to shrink them (Cold water didn't seem to help like it does for me). I have a cool pic from the rumble of a 57 Ford Gasser doing a tasty burnout in the parking lot. I'd like to post it for all to enjoy.
