hello everyone
I am from Ireland and I have a 1944 German Ford V3000S 3 ton flat bed truck. Runs with a German made Ford flathead engine. I've been reading the forum for a while to try and learn something about these wonderful engines and have just decided to join to ask a few questions.
Many thanks

Hell ya! Welcome.
I am certainly going to be hitting you up for some Ireland info. I am half Irish and attribute that to my Whiskey drinking. I am planning a trip next year to take a gander....

All the world's a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.

Welcome. Sounds like you could barter some travel info. for some flathead info. Could be a good trade all around. Spent 3 weeks all over Ireland and loved every minute. Man I can taste how much better the Guinness is over there as I type this message. Man o man. Have one for me. Slainte.

Thanks very much for the warm welcome and hello from Ireland to you all! Sorry for not getting back as I havent been on the forum for ages ... does anyone know if there any hot rodders or Ford flathead enthusiasts in Ireland?
Well heres a pic of my 1944 German Ford 3 ton truck - the Ford V3000S as it was known - made in Koln, Germany in 1944. Its mostly all original and I spent the last few years fixing and tidying it and trying to learn as much as I can about the V8 flathead. I hope you all like the pic - just a few things worth pointing out - I have added a few items for shows and interest - the twin MG42 (deactivated) machine guns in the back, the cross cut saw mounted on the rear body - I made the tool mounts (shovel and pick axe) using some original pieces I found with the truck and the remainder based on what few wartime pics I could find of the Ford V3000S and I also made the high rear sides and metal hoops - the originals were destroyed - but I was able to use the original metal mounts and even the original bolt holes to mount everything just as it was back then.
A special thanks to forum member Flatordead for sorting me out with a lot of spares which enabled me to get the engine fired up - carb, distributor etc ... he really is a most helpful and friendly guy.
Many thanks

How the hell do you drive that thing around Ireland? I had trouble keeping one of those things you call a mid-size car on the roads there!
Welcome, cool looking truck, and ask away with any questions, there's a ton of information available here.

Cheers Timothy - the forum is certainly a wealth of information - the tech section is absolutely superb!
Haha I guess you just get used to the size of the road over here ... its the tail backs I cause that cause me more problems!

With a truck of that size you don't have to worry about other caes on the road. You can either shoot them or drive over them, Cool Truck......
