Upstate New Yawkers.....South Butler Drags !!

Not being billed as "nostalgic" drags, but still plenty of old iron running down the old timey (original ashphalt, paved in 1957) track. This Sunday, July 11th starting at 10:00am. Anybody else going ??????

Grew up in Geneseo and that name doesn't stick out in my memory.

Yep! That's the one!!
Back in the late-50's, up to around 1967, it was called the Savannah Race Track, due to its' close proximity to Savannah, NY. It re-opened for a couple of races last year and is opening for four races this year. It's located about one hour's drive east of Rochester, out Rt. 104 and south about 5 miles on Rt. 89. The only thing that's changed is that now they're using a Christmas Tree instead of a flag man. Here's a pic of one of my bud, kustomolds in one of last year's races (he won!).....

NUTS!! - There's a big (supposed to be anyway) car show in Saugerties that day - I've paid my registartion fee otherwise I'd be there.

I heard they were running on a different track this year, not the original one. Anyone else hear this?

KnuckleBuster: I was at the first race this year on June 6th and it was at the original track. The rest are supposed to be, too. The other dates are August 7th & 8th and September 19th.
