The Meth

Hi everyone, my name is Marc Methot, but my friends call me Mars (Not pronounced as the planet:cool: ). I'm 30 years of age and live in a small city called Thunder Bay, 6 hours hours north of Minneapolis Minnesota. I was born into the hot rod world cause of my ol man. I grew up with the family ride, a 1940 Ford Standard Opera Coupe that has been completely redone 5 times now in it's life in the family. Pics to come. I'm a airbrush artist that loves to flame and scallop anything. I have the talent to vision anything that has potential. With occupation, I'm a full time window tinter thats loves doing free hand custom cut tint (flames designs, etc in your window film). On the side I also do carpentry work. Mostly finishing. In the next month or 2, I'll be starting my new apprentiship as a tattoo artist. I was told my whole life that I should get into it and finally I am able to follow those dreams. I feel I am wasted talent in this small city and will only move if opportunity is knocking at my door and is guaranteed, but with the time being, I do what I can.
I heard about this site through a friend and heard littleman aka Dave was a member here which I thought was cool. I met Dave on my Honeymoon at the SoCal speed shop recently. Got to talk to him for awhile about his projects and seen his Deuce in the shop which is one sick built ride. Hey Dave, still love the gas pedal position. LOL. I promised him to post pics up of mine and my ol mans latest project. It's an extremely rare 1930 3 window Durant coupe. Only 3 in the world restored and this will be the first hotrod. Many collectors would freak to see such a rare car hotrodded, but the way I look at it, is if you find an old rare vehicle in excellent shape, then restore it, but if you find that field car that is missing a lot and needs full ground up TLC, then do what best suits your style and thats the direction this project is going. I'll post pics on a new thread to share.
I also have for my own future projects, a 1940 Ford 4 door Sedan. I seen it, and loved that it was different with the back doors suicide. Plus for the price of only $200, you can't go wrong.
Recently I brought home another project. It's a 1956 DKW Auto Union Schnellaster. Basically an old Audi German Van. I even traded a 86 astro van with no engine or tranny for this van and just found out that this van is extremely rare in Germany let alone Canada to be in as good as shape as it is, so again, more collectors will shake there heads to see another rare vehicle customized, but the original motor is a 3-cylinder 896cc 32 HP engine. Something that will not work for me. Need more power!!! Pics will come also on these projects.
Sorry for the long read, but now you can't say, who is this guy, cause now you know. Hopefully I'm welcomed here and you'll enjoy my posts of my projects or just posts of others etc. Mars "The Meth" is here to stay. Thanks for having me.
