I used an E-Z kit. Pretty simple, just put one in our 49 Merc. Paid $180 would use it again..............OLDBEET

i just rewired my 50 ford this past winter..used the e-z wiring kit that old beet mentioned...went in VERY easy...and i hate electrical.
the switch from 6 to 12 volt was pretty easy as well...just need a 1 wire alternator, a Y bracket to mount it to the motor...new bulbs all the way around, new starter solenoid, a ballast resistor if you want to stay with the points dizzy...( i switched over to the 12 volt pertronix).
any questions don't hesitate to PM me.
good luck.
