I found this site while surfing. I entered the discussion when someone posted pictures of my 1956 Continental Mark II convertible.

I am a theme collector. I collect things that bear the Continental name. I show my cars on the concours circuit and have been all over the country over the last four years.
I currently have a 1955 Porsche Continental Cabrio, one of three 1956 Continental Mark II convertibles, a 1956 18' Chris Craft Continental (That's near perfect and never been sanded). I have a 1968 Lincoln limousine with 6 doors. It's not a stretch, it's a splice of two cars. I have a very sad 1969 Continental Mark III convertible and lastly a 1977 Lincoln Continental Town Car with 18,000 miles.
I read the introduction to this topic. I may fit in with some of you, and other, not. As you can tell from my collection I swing both ways, so to speak. My custom cars get an awful lot of attention, but there's just something about a "bathtub" Porsche that drives just like new.
I can't stomach the thought of cutting up a perfectly good old car, to make a hot rod out of it. That being said, I understand why it is done.
I grew up on Woodward Ave. My Prom car was a (borrowed) brand new 1970 440/RT 6-pack Challenger convertible in Plumb Crazy with a white interior and top. Baddest car at the Prom.
Married the girl I ditched at the Prom to go dragracing on Telegraph Rd. I won enough money to pay for the prom tickets! Lucky for me, she's a real car freak. The Porsche's hers.
