My kid's car, 96 Toyota Camry, just friggin died yesterday, no sputter, no nothing, just quit running, we got it home, thought she had run it out of gas, added gas, checked gauge, car has fuel, seems to me it's not firing, any ideas as to what happened?
TIA

WELL LIKE ANY OTHER CAR CHECK FOR SPARK(PULL A WIRE PUT A SCREW DRIVER IN THE PLUG AND TURN IT OVER) IF IT HAS SPARK THEN CHECK TO SEE IF THERES GAS AT THE INJECTORS JUST WORK ON IT LIKE IT WAS A REAL CAR IF THERES BOTH GAS&SPARK THEN MOVE TOWARDS THE TIMMING? PROB A BELT ON A NEW JAPPER LIKE THAT COULD BE A GEAR BUT PROB A BELT COULD OF TOSSED IT AND ON SOME OF THEM IT BENDS THE VAULS TO SHIT NOT THAT I WORK ON NEW CARS FOR A LIVING BUT I TEND TO BUY CHEAP CARS IN ANY YEAR RANGE AND IF ALL ELSE IS GOOD ON YOUR JAPPER COULD BE PUTER TOOK A SHIT

i ould be a little off on this but under dash passenger side there are 2 relays both are engine relays. Might be your problem.

Yeah, check for spark..ignitors can go out just like that. The other is the timing belt...Easiest to line up the pulley with the timing pointer, then check the distributor to see where it points. This is the 3.0 v6?
If so, it doesnt damage the valves...

timing belt was replaced about 15K miles ago, did the test for fire, got none, so I'm thinking maybe ignition module? ignitor? where are these located? there are some relays under the hood, one says "engine main" could that be it? if it's the ignitor, where would I find that?
thanks guys, keep the help coming

Exactly what motor does it have? It'll say on the emissions sticker under the hood...
Does it have a distributor?
I dont have the right books here to look stuff up. I'm pretty sure the ignitor is either in or on the side of the distributor..(if you have one)
And with the cap off crank the motor and see if the rotor turns...

On most late models there is an emergency fuel shut-of switch, it is tripped on impact, but can be tripped from a really hard jolt, like a big pot-hole, check the owners manual to find out where it is and if it is the problem reset it.
