Just as a sidenote, I researched a little and found that in 1963, this Buick 8 powered d/dragster was running 10.85. Unbelievable...

yeah is this the greatest site???so much they got hidden in the photo archives , i know nostaliga drags when they started had so many pictures taken by just amateurs in the early days and that guy got em to publish em, how about the wrecked and burned 34? coupe?

what year is this car? and what kind of front axle does it have? looks like a custom independant very different
It's a '49 Plymouth. The Ramchargers were a group of Chrysler Corp. engineers who developed ram induction, among other things. You may remember their candy-striped Super Stock cars in the mid sixties, and they also had a top fuel car. They were way ahead of their time, and quite innovative. This is from Jan. '60 Hot Rod Magazine.
