While the bed is off of my '57 Effie, I'm gonna need to fashion a 2x4 for homemade mudflaps. Then we realized that's where I could temporarily attach the taillights. I just-now realized, though: don't they need to be ground to the frame to work?

If they do just run a ground wire from the taillite housing to the frame.

I'm thinking if there not grounded, they aint gonna work.
You can run a ground wire to the socket inside the housing (like on glass cars) then run the wire to the chassis for a ground.
