Flathead50

Just wanted to check in and introduce myself. I was into muscle cars in high school a bit over 20 years ago, but now that I've grown up and can afford a couple toys I'm getting into real hot rods. I've been playing with jeeps for a while (real jeeps, not these new things that you can just bolt-on performance), but just picked up a good start in a 1950 fordor deluxe.
The shoebox will be a mild rod, lowered a bit with some motor hop ups (it's got a newly rebuilt 8ba flatty, built to stock) and has a pretty straight body to start with. The floor pan and body mounts are rusted out, but other than that it's a good start. I'll be converting it to 12v and throwing in a t-5, and maybe lakes pipes, but other than that it'll stay pretty stock.
I'm always on the lookout for another project, I'm thinking an early 30s roadster pickup for a rat rod project should do the trick. I've got 19 month old twin boys, and I'm really hoping to get some good projects for them to cut their teeth on. There's nothing they love better than sitting in the driver's seat and sticking the keys in the ignition!
Looking forward to some great advice, stories and hot rods on this forum.
The first project:
