ORIGINAL 2005 THREAD AS FOLLOWS:
===========================================
There is still some frustration and confusion regarding posting of pictures. hope this will help. If something I have written is confusing let me know and I will try to re-write it in a clearer fashion.
To Post to the HAMB's Server
1. click on reply
2. scroll down below the area reserved for text responses.
3. find the " manage attachments" gray box and click it
4. browse your hard drive for a picture(s) and then hit upload
5. after a short wait for uploading - click submit reply
If your pictures are less than 80kb's each you will see your pictures in the post.
If you attached pictures that are too big you will see an empty image box....re-size your pictures and try again.
Next we need a tutorial on resizing and options for software.
To Post by linking a photo from another website
1. click on "user cp" pull down menu *
2. click on "edit options"
3. scroll down to the bottom of the page to " miscellaneous options"
4. change selection to " enhanced interface full WYSIMYG editing "
5. now you can post links to pictures from other webpages and hosted sites.
6. to post a picture link hit reply to post *
7. above the area to type a message are many icons. Select the http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/hamb/editor/insertimage.gificon and then type in or paste the address of the picture. an example would be the address for the above icon. right click it and select properties. copy and paste the address given under properties. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...insertimage.gif (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/hamb/editor/insertimage.gif)
Linking pictures has many benefits. It doesn't use up HAMB bandwidth and slow down Ryans server. You can post a much larger and prettier picture with a link. There is no 80kb limit.

...............................................END ...............................................
The oringinal 'How-to' was written very well, but is in need of some updates for 2007.
The first option titled, "How to post to the hambs server" is still up to date, no changes are needed.
You'll notice the red asterisks on #1 and #6. These two have changed slightly.
#1 Theres is no longer a drop down called 'User CP'. It is now called 'Manage Your Account' and is located to the far left of your red upper toolbar. The original above steps, 2 thru 7, still apply. No changes are needed.
#6 'Reply to post' has changed slightly. Now, within every thread, there is a box at the bottom of each page titled 'Quick Reply'.
Simply type in the box and click on 'Post Quick Reply'. Within the Quick Reply box there is an icon botton (mentioned above in # 7). It is used in the same way to link a photo from another website.
New Buttons:
You'll notice the following new buttons on every reply
Quote
Multi-Quote
Quick Reply
(if it's your reply, you'll also see Edit)
Quote will open a new reply box, including the persons text, and sometimes pictures, at the top. You can edit the quote by adding or removing text or images, just be sure not to delete either of the beginning or ending quote.
Multi-Quote allows you select 2 or more quotes to be included in your reply. Click 'multi-quote' on any reply you want to quote and the letters on the button will turnfrom white to black. If you want to remove one or more quotes from being included on your reply, click 'multi-quote' again, and the letters on the button will change back to white.
Once you have selected all the quotes, just click 'quote' on any of the replies you selected and the reply window will appear will all the quotes you selected at the top.
Quick Reply button is useful when reading a long page of replies. This button will quickly get you to the bottom of the page where the quick reply is located, rather than scrolling down.
Edit is a very useful tool for your own replies. If you dont want others to know you edited after you posted it, just dont type anything in the 'reason for editing' box, just edit, and click 'save'.
Hope this helps!
