hamb drags raffle engine 2
first off let me apologize for lack of info thus far, i have had major computer problems, i finally solved them by taking the old HP out back and putting 3 rounds from a 12 gauge into it, what a freakin release,until the new system is completed, they tell me a couple more days at least , i am running on my jacked up laptop, so please bare with me.
DUECE ROADSTER AND BELLM your checks arrived , thank you, and i know Ryan thanks you
the engine status is this;
302 block bored .040 over
289 crank and rods 294c.i.
speed pro hypereutectic flatop pistons, with coated skirts
ARP rod bolts
block crank and rods are in machining right now ,i hope to have them done some time late next week
heads are going to be early 289 units,larger valves, exhaust seats for unleaded fuel,screw in studs and guide plates. these vintage heads should give us around 9-9.5 to 1 compression, they also solve rocker arm issues and exhaust port location issues that gt 40 heads had.
i am loosely basing the build on a small block done in the old ford performance book by Pat Gahnal
suedsled/ marty from northwest speed equipment has donated one of their intake adapters to adapt a 4 barrel manifold to a pair of 94's i am going to go ahead and pick up a couple of 94's and a pair of bitchen little velocity stacks they produce for the project. thanks a ton Marty!!
everything should be in place by the end of next weekend to start assembly, by then i should be able to post pictures of the engine. i have a ton of things to do before i can drive out there next month , so i am going to be scarce for a while, if you need to get in touch with me PM here as it will prolly be more reliable than e-mail for me right now.
NOW check this out, our own shifts has offered up a transmission to bolt up to the raffle engine. i am going to let him fill in the details on it,incredible!!!!
talk about a drop in package!
i let Ryan handle the ticket sales and who is eligible to enter , all that serious stuff http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
thanks to all for there offers of help,
Fred
