Hello from California. I am new to the board and am looking forward to learning new things and meeting new people. I have a 47 Merc convertible that's looking pretty dog-eared and it's time to do some work. I'm at a crossroads: restore it like Henry made it? Do a few upgrades? Full-on rod? I'm sure I'll find a bit of everything here.

I'm up in Berkeley. I used to live in SJ right on the Campbell border. Just loved that oldtown part of Campbell. There were always some neat old rides around there. I've got a couple pictures of the old beast but I have to figure out how to resize them.

Here are a couple of pix of the car. Does somebody make a ready-made chassis for this car that would accept modern IFS, OHV v8 and modern differential?
