After drooling over the choppers crafted by Flyrite and deciding to place an order for one I ended up falling into a great deal on a chopper while in Detroit for Billetproof. It wasn't really for sale but I guess whatever I said did the trick and it's now in Cali. I really wanted one of Flyrites killer chops but I love this thing!
It's a Pan top end mated to a shovel lower, police shift, foot clutch, mid 1940's Linkert dual carbs, spool front wrapped in a ribbed 21", 5 speed in a 4 speed case and a BF Goodrich silvertown bias ply out back. The whole thing is either NOS or freshly rebuilt. He'd had the primary cover for 16 years and the seat is older than me. I have to ditch the 16" apes though since I actually pretty much hang from them. I'll likely go to like an 8" Z-bar or drags. I haven't decided on paint yet. I'm thinking either black with silver leaf scroll work or full on 60's metalflake with lace panels or something.

A FlyRite woulda been cool, but there's nothing wrong with that one, either! (except if you're gonna do lace and flake it REALLY NEEDS skinny whites!) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hey Jason, I told ya. How could I resist?
Barnett....yeah, skinny whites are definitely an option. Even a triple stripe rear.

I would have bought it too. I'd keep the apes though..

I was never a fan of apes but I rode my buddies Sporty chop with 'em when I was out there. It was nice. They were 10"ers. That's an option too.

Kirk, I think Tim has finally cooled down about that!...I distracted him with a Model A sedan project!...and, Terry is already putting another Pan together!

Shit I hope so. I feel really bad. It did go to a good home though. I have to talk with Terry. I have some carb questions. They're puking pretty good and rather than me digging into them for 4 hours I wanted to ask him for advice. He's likely to have a solution off the top of his head.
I knew he had another pan project. Hopefully he can bust out another killer one that Tim will dig even more.

i like it as is. how about just running some smaller apes if they are to high for you? they definetly make it look cool. i love apes but i'm 6'4".

Dude, I'm lucky if I'm 5'10". Smaller apes are up for consideration for sure.

You'll look good riding it around Billetproof CA instead of that pedal bike!
Rogers truck looks killer behind your new bike.
Congrats!
PS
I have a pile of trophy parts for you I will get shipped out soon. PM your address.

Kick ass bike, I did some imaginary riding on my Triumph project in storage tonight. Shorter apes, shitload of pinstriping, ride the hell out of it. Just my opinion, I've always liked pretty basic black paint on bikes.
