Simple question. Who's going? I know I'll be there cause I've already made reservations at Casa De Appleman.
I just got an email from Titus telling me that they will have Paul LeMat and the "original" Graffiti coupe. Maybe we can get Lemat into a HAMB t-shirt.

I would have to be back on Sat., would it be worth going down for Thurs. and Fri.? It's 3 hrs to Toledo, should I figure another 3 hrs to Lancaster?
Also, anyone have a spare bed for a couple nites? I could always sack out in the back seat of the '49. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi, John! Looks like I might be going. I still don't have a car to drive, so I will probably not go the the Road Agents. That leaves me to go to the Leadsed, in my daily driver. Except for a few years during "new home ownership" I've been going to it since '85.
BTW, that reminds me "Where the hell has Rooster been?"

Where in the world is Rooster? He's working around his house, getting healed ip from a hernia operation and trying to catch up on his projects. He took a little time off from the internet. He's reporting that he'll be at Lancaster.
As for is it worth a 6 hour drive. Don't ask me, I hate to give such advise. What is worthwhile to me may not be to others. I hate to suggest something and then it be a let down for you. I suggest you search up some other posts on the HAMB and ask everyone what their opinions are. Myself? I'd make the drive, but i make the trip as much to be with my friends as I do to look at all the quality rides.

Ill be around. I have to work Saturday till noon so I should be there around oh say 12:01. I wont be bringing in a car. Despite Titus's now found lust for late model Kustoms I would not feel comfortable bringing the Jimmy in and no the T is no closer to being done.

I was just wondering how many cars would be there Thurs/Fri. or do most people show up on the weekend?
I'm sure the quality of the show is worth going, I just wanted to be sure there was something to see.

John B

May have a party? It's always a party when a bunch of HAMBers get together. If Kustm52 comes he'llhave to bring his own glassware.

I'm lookin around for some that I trust Boo Boo. Some of that "creek water" out there has been run through old radiators and such. Don't want any of that.
Has Skipstitch said anything about having a ride to cruise in that weekend?

Man, I've been locked in the Laboratory workin' on a "Secret Agent Spy Scope". But don't tell anyone!!!
Donzie, I kinda feel Saturday really is the big day... Thursday there isn't anything goin' on that I know of. I'd say probably at max attendance there are about 200-300 cars...MAYBE. But the quality and historical customs makes up for what some would consider a small event (in light of GG Columbus being the week prior). It sounds like my place is full for the weekend with guests, but you're more than welcome to crash on the living room floor. The more the merrier...and my wife cooks for an ARMY.
I did talk to Rooster and he'll be there, Kustom52 is gonna ride up from 'bama (we're supplyin' him with dixie cups...pun intended) and and hand full of others as well. The "official" HAMB-B-QUE will be on Saturday night at our place. If ya need directions, PM me. We're 2 blocks from the fairgrounds.
Oh and nope, no ride for that weekend for me. To much upholstery work and not enough time till then to throw wrenches at any of the projects....

So, I assume Stich is having his annual dogs and suds on the 17th? Damn!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I won't be able to go. Last year was a great get together with a great bunch of people! It was the main reason I joined the HAMB. I will try to come down to the show on Sunday, but that will be an hour or too late for the suds. Hope to see some of you. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If I have any money left from Columbus, I may try to come down Sat and/or Sun.
Too many things, not enough greens!
Will it be hard to find a motel/hotel room on late notice?
I won't decide until last minute due to weather/money....
I sure would like to come visit ya'll!

Grumpy, There are quite a few hotels there, I would say you shouldn't have a problem. Were staying at the headquarters hotel it is the Amerihost Inn, rooms are 75 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif not sure if they have rooms or not. # 740-654-5111

i love goodguys, but the KKOA show is my favorite of the whole year simply because i get to see good friends that i don't get to see but once a year. i'd say it is WELL worth it, so much so that the drive home is a real downer because the fun has ended. this and goodguys are the events that time start and stop for to me. and i'll have a car there this year. just wait till you guys see the "Tuna Boat." it isn't bad for a fella's first ride, built in 8 weeks in a buddy's garage and painted in his driveway!

I like the smaller shows such as KOA and KKOA put on for the atmosphere. I can relax more and spend time with my friends. I enjoy the large shows to, but in a different way. I'm always wired up at them, too much to see and not enough time to see it.
ChromedRat, that rocks that you'll have your ride there as well. Wonder what Rooster will bring? Kind of a scary thought.
Deb, I got something for Rob and yourself. I have to be careful when and where I hand it over to you guys. It might get me shot or at least banned from the Spectacular. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John your scarring me again!!!! Must be KOA related? It won't embarras me in front of my friends will it? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Can't wait to see you, maybe you can introduce me to some of the HAMB people, so I feel a little more comfortable here?? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Debb, you'll have to sneak off from your official duties for a while and hang out with the bad element. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm sure once they all meet you , they will love ya as much as I do. Besides you've never met a stranger.
As for the surprise, It's going to stay just that. A surprise.

Grumpy, Hope you get plenty of rest on Friday night. Hope you make it to the REV world headquarters on Saturday evening.

I'd like to check out the festivities at REV headquarters, but I'll have my 11 and 8 year olds with me, and wasn't sure whether it'd be a good idea to bring them.
Either way, I hope to be to Lancaster early Sat. morning.

Grumpy, the scene at REV World Headquarters is a laid back social thing. No one gets loud or rowdy (at least not because of Alcohol). The only trouble might be if Kustm52 breaks another of Happy's prized glasses. Well, there is a chance that Happy might pick on the poor barefoot hillbilly.

Yeah Grump, no problem with the kids...Booboo's bringin his boys (5 & 2???) and Rooster will probably have his youngens with him. I'll post a separate thing next week so we can get a head count on who's commin'. That way I know how many burgers and dogs to cook....Stitch

I'm looking forward to this coming weekend. Just got an email from some close friends who said thay have changed their mind and are coming up on saturday morning. I'm glad to hear it. I think their 51 Merc has the potential to be in the running for the 777 award. I'm also looking forward to seeing ChromedRat's new ride as well as the A that booboo traded for. Wish I had got something done to mine so I'd have something to show off.

booboo said theres a Mall close too(my wife heard him say it so I can't buffalo her http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
I'm trying to get a few others to come down with me, so we'll see.

Grumpy, I'd say that your motel is about a mile and a quarter away from the fairgrounds and since REV World Headquarters is a block and a half away from the fairgrounds the same mileage applies. Also if I remember right. Your choice of lodging is pretty close to the River Valley Mall. I'd say maybe even right accross Rt. 33. So it would be kinda hard to hide it from her. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
