A friend of mine offered to sell me his rebuilt 348 with tripower - complete from carbs to pan. No mention of price yet and I'm wondering what it would be worth. He says everything is correct for the motor or he could sell it with a single 4 barrel as a 350 HP version - I, of course would want the 3 two barrels. Any idea what this piece would be worth?

Depends, I have a pal that can get $2500 out of a good #s matching motor. The rarer ones as high as 5K. I bought mine, albeit a little less complete for $300.

My buddy originaly tried to buy the one I have for 348, gave the guy $100 down, and took the motor, never got around to paying the guy the rest of it and It was getting to him, so he let me have it for what he owed, $248, carb to pan..... turns over but probly needs a rebuild.

350hp? with a 1x4? Don't think so. That would be the 250, 305, or 320hp version if it was the single 4. Just get the 3x2 setup and have fun. I'd say a complete good running 348 with 3x2's should be about $3,000. Something like this...

Yeh, I wondered about the 350 HP. Course He'd had quite a few beers by then. Probably should have bought it on the spot.I definitely want the tri power version anyhow.
