Tingler, I had my suspicions, but now I know youre a crazy mofo. I dig it! Demonss.. we must have been drinking the same "koolaid" this week. I ripped this idea off from Tom Daniels from a old Rod&Custom Models magazine. When I was a kid , I got a AutoWorld electric heat knife and proceeded to cut a Revell Willys as soon as I could. I got to cutting out the w/o , and my 11 year old brain fried and I stopped right where you see it.
I revisited my childhood and came up with this. "Is that a bobber coupe?", " No , Bob's your uncle." The 33 Willys just came out of nowhere. I just wanted a excuse to draw those Willy's steel wheels!

I am blown away by the talent here every week. One of the reasons I became an FNG was to tell everyone who posts in the Art Show how I have been inspired to pick up a pencil and put it to paper after 20 or so years. Hopefully I'll have something to post in the next couple of weeks. For now I'll just sit back and enjoy.

Damn. I was away for a half hour and there's already a few killer posts! Ubermustang those are great.
A couple of years ago I took a trip to a scrapyard and spent a whole afternoon in it. It was specialised in older cars and I loved the atmosphere, the cars, the textures and the smell. I took pictures and painted some watercolors, and made a little book out of them. I think it's time for me to work on it again and change the layout a bit!

I'm a little reluctant to post this for fear it will diminish this fantastic thread:o. Another Hunnert Car Pileup has unofficially marked the end of the outdoor car season in the Chicago area so it's time to get started on the charity panels. It's been hard focusing the past couple of weeks but I've got to get on track. This is a metallic charcoal panel with black, four grays and white striping. It's for the Chicago World of Wheels inaugural Chicago Brushmasters Charity Auction to be held January 25, 26, 27 at McCormick Place.

This is my take on a factory built custom pinned by Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky for the 1940 Nash. He chopped, channeled, shaved and fabricated a pretty nice ride which, no doubt, inspired many. I dropped it
down and took a shot at refining one sore spot in the design of the rear bustle as well as further deletting some bright work on the bumpers and in the rear. Pontiac or Cord tail lights grace the slightly altered trunk and thicker, curvier bars grace the center grille section. Smooth moons clean up the wheels a bit, too
http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m45/jigger_01/GrandNash-2.jpg
...and finally, here's a concept sketch I'm consideing using on my submission for the '40 Ford design contest (feedback appreciated)

Breeder...
Thanks, bro. It's one of the two or three pieces I've done that my wife actually likes. Glad you do, too. I have a single 16"x20" framed Giclee print (1!) on canvas, of it available if you'd like: wstinson@twmi.rr.com

Thanks,

No prob Kurt....I've been using auto oil in my work for a couple of years now. I mostly use em to give the paint better flow. Also creates a nice even matte sheen when used as a glaze.
