If you don't know, David Freiburger is a true rodder. He don't do 1-800 parts install kind of articles.

I was into big ol' 4x4s at the time, and he made that mag fun to read...then he bounced around to a few other Petersen titles and improved every one he had a hand in...one of the true greats in automotive journalism!

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the last 2 issues of Hot Rod are actually worth the paper they're printed on (unlike the past several years worth of pulp). Great story on the muscle car revival, awesome story about Barry Robotnic's monster FE motor, Tardell's shop tour. It has been a great turn-around for thet book. And that's no easy task in a business where the saying "once dead, long dead" is true of any book.
