I'll be traveling west with Keith and others from the Marion MA area. It'll be good driving the AV8 this year. Last year I had to hitch a ride as my engine was on the "bench".

Attached is what I was in last year. John MacIntyre's blown AV8.

Slag, c'mon, take the caddy or one of the bikes??,,, i know better, you'll be passed out in the passenger seat of White's car for the ride there, do some donuts with it in the hotel parking lot at 4am, then stroll into the show half blind just as everyone is pulling out on Saturday, and ride home passed out in the passenger seat of White's car...sound about right?? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif...oh yeah, BTW I'll be there...bob

Slag Kustom
07-01-2004, 03:55 PM
this is not your average show. i for one hate the normal car shows. this is more of a big party with alot of cool old cars. one of the best things is the guy at the gate telling the billet boys the show lot is full and they have to go park in the lot http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif most of the bands are really good. the party goes all nite back at the hotel.

on a side note im thinking of getting a keg for this year . last year i went threw more then 4 30 packs and was a big mess with the emptys

Richie, imagine a car show where you actually like 95% of the cars. Imagine a car show where you just don't have enough film to take the amount of pics that you want. Imagine a show that takes place in New England! Imagine a show that you don't go home wondering WHY people spend tens of thousands of dollars making ugly, tacky cars.

This show is one of the reasons I'd like to move back there.

Richie
07-08-2004, 12:09 PM
I know I should go....but I'm a stubborn bastard.
A bunch of people have been telling me for years that I'd like it but...I dunno...I'm not big on crowds anymore.

Why would you want to move back here anyhow?.....I'm actually in the begining stages of moving to AZ...I think. Been talking about it for years.....let's work out a trade! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey, richie, where on the s.s. are you? No wonder you don't like Mass. Kidding. I live near NH more in the central part of Mass and it's not bad here. I spent 4 years in TX and looked forward to coming back. Once I got back I hated it, but it's growing on me again. I actually look forward to winter every year so I have time to do crap to my truck that I wouldnt do when I'm driving it. Taxes here suck though.

Richie
07-08-2004, 12:26 PM
Heya "Butch"...I moved from Brighton back to Weymouth about 3 years ago....and haven't adjusted yet. Even though my familly has been in this town for like 200 years I still can't get used to the pink sweatpants, patriots jackets and Areosmith blaring out of every house in town. I'm not bitter though.

I've been saying for years now that I want to move out west.....I'm a huge wimp in the winter....actually anything under 60 degrees...the only good thing about winters around here is slipping around in the snow.....3rd gear donuts are a ball!

I hear ya, Richie. My wife, baby boy, and I moved back here in March. Thought we would be better off closer to family. We are now packing our stuff to move back to Seattle, WA, in August.

But, we will be at the Rumble, for sure. You should go, too, man. I don't know if our bone stock (other than Cal Custom baby moons) '57 Pontiac is welcome, though. So, unless I can find someone with a spring compressor I can borrow to slice a couple front coils, we may be parking outside the festivities.

It would be great to be around some hamber's and good music. This whole moving every few months thing can be a real bitch. I am badly in need of some visceral, stress relief in the form of smoking tires and flaming duals. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Slag Kustom

the rules

In case you are not familiar with The Road Agents Hot Rod & Rockabilly Rumble, There is a certain criteria you must meet before you can enter your Rod or Custom. It must be built in true '40s, '50s or early '60s style, or you simply will not be able to enter the show with it. Do these rules offend you? Then they probably apply!! By doing this, The Road Agents have created a truly unique and one of a kind Hot Rod show, and we intend to keep it that way! Please do not waste our time or yours by trying to "sneak" into the show with your billet laden street rod or bone stocker. This show is for modified cars only!! As one spectator best said it when he watched a high-tech rod turned away at the gate ...."Ya don't bring a horse to a dog show!"

We welcome and highly encourage Incomplete Projects, Vintage Drag Cars, Rail Jobs and Altereds!

Please note: If you are trailering a drag car we need you to either unload the car at the hotel or the commuter parking lot down the road (1/8 mile away). Due to space limitations we cannot have you unload the car in the parking lot on Saturday morning. Please NO trailers in the parking lot.

What a life.....60 hours a week to break even.

Nice place.

Not bitter though......ohhh no.

Sorry, almost forgot. How much does this deal cost, anyway? Can't find any info on the Road Agents site. Is it free? No way can it be with The Paladins headlining.

I want to give my wife her first dose of a real hot rod show. And we want to take our 11-month old; Leo "the future of rock-n-roll" Hamilton to this shindig. Is it toddler friendly?

Haring,

If you decide to go up on Friday, you could cruise with Allie, Spike, and I.
