Hi all, been skulkin around for some time now and thought it time to jump on board (if you'll have me that is http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif). I live in Canberra, Australia's capital city, and have been into rodding for most of my life, more seriously the last 12 years with the sloooowwwwww construction of a '23T bucket, not exactly a nostalgia piece, but anyway. Nearly finished now, thinkin of swappin wheels and tyres, and rocker covers for sumthin older. Also got a "55 Buick Special, imported to oz 6 years ago, converted to RHD, runnin a '70 vette 454, T400 and 9" rear, goes well. Also just startin to build a '30 roadster. Have heaps of bits the old man had "layin around" and will try and post some picks.
Have learnt heaps of this site already and hope to learn some more.

Welcome!!
Question... Is it illegal to have a car without fenders in Australia? Most of the pix I see from Aus. have them, just curious... There were the 2 cars in the issue before last of TRJ that had 'em too...

Yes you are right about fenderless cars. The laws suck in OZ,which is one reason I moved.Americans don,t realize how easy they have it.I will never put fenders on my 32 roadster!!

Welcome Jimbob. Like your "T" but, REALLY like your Buick. Also, I really liked Canberra the only time I visited for the Nats. The idea of "roundabouts" really has been maxed out there. I got dizzy just driving around them! Great place.

And it's closed Saturdays and Sundays too. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Jimbob is a weid name, but then I guess the last thing you wanna be called in your town is the alternative..... "little Johhny'. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Welcome aboard, Love the Chevy, and the green thing aint too shappy either, although it does need some decent wheels and whitewalls, I'd be thinkin Radirs all round with WWW cheater slicks on the back and WWW skinnys up front.

Hey Carps
Yes it was fendered but it isn,t now!No ugly cycle fenders for me.By the way,I drove back from the Nazi Street Rod Assoc deal in Pueblo last weekend in my other roadster(28 Hiboy) in the pissing rain, passed lots of enclosed trailers with Street rods in them.I may have been wet but I was having more fun.

Awe c'mon, you know that aint a fair representation of Melbourne weather. I've had more wet roadtrips in the US summer with DRD and your old pal from St Louis Mike Kheen, than you ever had here. I swear I've been sittin in both Don and Mikes (closed) cars when there was more rain on the inside than the outside and the ambient tems were in the 90s coa it was alegedly the middle of summer. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I've done some 19 NSRA Nat's and never been to one yet that it didn't rain. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Of course when Don was here for our Nat's a couple of years back I made sure he didn't feel out of it by making it rain on the Two Bays run. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
