I'd like to build something to drag race once in a while. MAYBE one day make it street legal (difficult around here...). I already have a couple of 350's. Keep in mind that I'm in Montreal (Canada) and vintage tin is rare, so prices are usually higher than in the states (at least CA). Any input?

If a T is what you want, that is a great start.

That doesn't look too bad for $1500. The shipping will be quite a lot thought.Glenn

IMO, the simple answer is no. that channel frame is juat asking to be busted. for the 1500 you can build your own. we're building one for a buddy right now. if you plan on racing it and using any kind of horsepower, just do it right and build it yourself, or find someting a little more sturdy.

I wouldnt mind a road trip to pick something up. I'm trying to get a 'feel' of what I can do without spending a ton of moolah. I like 'T''s, '27's in particular but would consider anything. Thanks for the input, fellas.

The frame can easily be boxed and that will give you strength. I think its a good deal. Oh yeah this is my first post. My name is Jason and Im working on a 1931 ford tudor, pontiac engine. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If it were here in the UK at that price, we wouldn't be discussing it, it would have been bought already. Maybe not if you want a racecar, but all the parts there are useable.
Mart.

Jason -- get out on the main board and give us proper intro, preferrably with pictures (semi-naked ex-girlfriend picts are always helpful).
Whiz, for $750, that's not a bad collection parts. I'd probably build a new frame, but you are getting a steel t-body. The front axle has been hogged out too much to be safe, and obviously the wheels are stinky. If you are truly hoping to drag race this, I don't think the banjo rear and wishbones are going to hold up long behind a 350, but you could always pass on the rear to someone else. I'm guessing that assemblage of parts is not going to get you very far on the road to building a drag racer, but it could be a start.
