I might just be towing home a 1946 1/2-ton that was brought up from Tejas a couple of weeks ago. I always liked the art deco "waterfall" grills. Anybody got pics of them as rods??

I'm building one... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have some pics on my site of how I chopped mine. my profile image is the actual chop but the body is still off the frame. getting close to finishing the frame but not there yet. I am planning on sectioning the front hood area some by moving the fenders up, losing the running boards and sectioning the grill at the top and extending the lower waterfall portion. (lot of work but thats the goal) here is my latest photochop of the direction I am going with the front.

InPrimer: Many thanks for the pics you pm'd to me.
SoCalCarCulture: I'd love that truck, but I'd prolly be afraid to drive it and it's way outta my budget!! I do like the parking lights taken off and will prolly borrow that idea, if I get the one I'm looking at......thanks!!
41ChevyTrucker: I love it !! Very cool and a ton (half-ton??) of work!
Any others.....more "traditional"......in primer or flattened paint??

Last one.... I have sent you a good representation... The rest of the trucks I have are pretty much stockers...
Best of luck,

Crap! I wish I never sold mine! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
BTW, the restoration guys refer to that grill as the Wurlitzer cuz it looks like the old Jukeboxes

Sure.. Anytime...
Mine had a WAY overdone 327 SBC, roared down the street... Incredibly fun to drive, but only on short distances. Being a 3/4 Ton it rode like a bitch, but was fun to take around the block. I would imagine the lighter duty suspension would be much kinder on your ass.
The parts are not as easy to find as the 1947-1950's models but they do make a good amount of aftermarket stuff for them. The major problem I have seen with them (The other owners will probably know more than me) is that the rust eats away at the inside of the bead moldings on the rear of the cab. Best of luck....
