Since we are now about half way thru the year, I was wondering if there was going ot another HAMB calender for 2005.

I'll help again this year but that wasn't Jack shit compared to what Chad did. We need someone with his knowledge and ability or don't even think about it.

If I remember right, the 04's sold out. Maybe we can get them to run off 2x as many?

As much as the HAMB calendar was a GREAT success; the amount of work (selecting pics., art work, printing and distribution) was a monumental task.

There were were many unnamed people who contributed to "pulling off" this piece of history and art work. I for one want to thank EVERYONE that had a hand in in producing it.

I hope there is another one; but it's a hell of a big job. (bigger than a lot of people realized!)

I you guys start on it now you might have it done by the middle of 2006, but that if you want to do art for a full year, for art on a half years worth would take you guy till the middle or later '05.

I could not have done the calendar without the help of alot of people. Not just the creation, but the distributioni. FYI, the calendar was started in '02 and we had to make it an '04 because it was taking so long. Everyone has good intentions when they say I'll send in some striping... Hell, I myself owe someone a striped panel, but honestly, it's way down on my priority list. Getting the pictures I was looking for took some effort too. It was ALOT of work. ALOT of planning. The final piece was awesome. I am EXTREMELY proud of it.

I will leave it up to Ryan. If he wants me to do it again, then I'm game BUT the deadlines will be steadfast. We've got the Hunnert Car Pileup coming up and I have alot of work to do for that. Not to mention, my fucking car is still in pieces, 3 months after I was SURE I'd be driving it all over hell's half acre. If I am unable to get the required art by the set deadlines, (whatever they are determined to be, then I will have to make up the balance myself. I learnd quite a bit that will hopefully make the next one go a little smoother. If he would rather we wait and do an '06 calendar, then I am game as well. It's his call.

I haven't heard someone use the term "Hell's half acre" since my dad died over fifteen years ago. Always assumed it was his own sort of colloquialism....I'm one of the deadbeats that never delivered on the promised striping by the way.

Also, PM me your address. I have something you need.

I brought this up once before.... maybe in-between the printed calendars (which are a monumental task) we can do a electronic calendar...
A screen saver app where we put all the pics together for each month.. people can then download the program and use it.. or just the pics for each month and put them on their pc desktops.
It would take a bit of coding... and photo prep... but no printing and distribution would be a link and some server space/bandwidth.

just throwing that out there...

oh and by the way... the HAMB calendar freaking ROCKS

And so YOU should be. (proud)

It is the only calendar that still hangs on my shop wall!
Of course my being in one of the pictures might have something to do with it !! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Whatever/whenever the next "project" is, you can count on me for organizing the distribution.

Kris, I would love to do t-shirts but Ryan put a hold on them and this is his baby, he calls the shots. He must have a very good reason. Attend the HAMB Drags and you shall receive a t-shirt, and have a ball. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe it would be good to do a collaboration of potos taken by those on this board from events and such. Do a vote, make some collages, and rip it out. Do it kinda in the style of the cars it represents - some brains, some sweat, and a little chaos thrown in for good measure. Would still be a good deal of work, but this whittle it done to couple monthes to complete.

Just a thought....
