Hi all,
I'm in my 30's...but have always loved the real hotrod scene. I'm originally from Orange California, but have lived in TX for about 15 years. I'm glad (and sad in a small way) that the hot rod and rat rod scene is regaining in popularity, especially here. There are 3 new rod shops over here in the last handful of years, and I love it.
I am still looking for the "one" that I want to get and build...but am extremely eager to look, learn, listen, etc. I have built up a lot of cars in the past, but nothing older than 1970...so I guess that don't really count.
Anyway...I'm here, sayin hey. I'm sure I'll post in the first 10 seconds I have whatever ride (or box of parts) I end up getting.
Thanks for havin' me.

Thanks again guys...
I'm leaving in an hour to go pick-up my new project. It happened a LOT quicker than I thought it would. (and cheaper too!) :D
I hope it ends up being worth my drive, time, and little bit o' money. I'll make a new post with pics, plans, etc...as soon as I get it back to the house this afternoon.

You should roll down 1187, towards 35. There are 2 shops down that way. Yeller Rose seems to be more along my speed, I've called there a few times, drove by at night 1000 times, but havent ever stopped-in to say hi (yet!)...They even have a cool old roadster mounted up on a pole for their shop "sign" out front.
There is another shop that just opened just past the tracks. But MAN that must be a million dollars worth of building and cars. There is more glossy paint, shiny chrome, and mo-nay in that place than I can imagine. And they have a new foundation poured next to the existing building...that's bigger than my entire house. So who knows....maybe they have something really badass planned for it. We'll see.
I love some "patina" and grease though.

Well... wow. I went alllllll the way up to Oklahoma practically, and picked up this ol' Studebaker pickup. 1949 to be exact. And I bit off a lot more than I wanted to chew. I got it all the way home and since it doesnt roll, I couldnt get the damn thing off the trailer. I had to return the trailer that day, so I had to dump it off in a lot until I can find a way to get it home to start pulling it apart. I mainly want the chassis (which is complete) and the cab. I'll do the rest as i go along.
Sigh...
Thanks still, for all the welcomes.
