wanted running MEL engine 383 430 or 462

I need a good Mercury Edsel or Lincoln MEL series engine. I don't care if it's a 383 430 462 or the Edsel but I'd like to find one with a good tranny too if possible. Need it to be somewhere I can get to and back in a day from Indianapolis Indiana

I have one minus carb,previous owner said they drove it to the hoist that pulled the engine and trans,been setting covered for some time. Not locked up 2 mo ago when I checked. I`m in Illinois near St Louis mo.Will haggle on the price or trade. $500 Jerry:D

So we have been talking about the one I have, you going to come get it? $300
It turns over, has been sitting a long time under cover of the hood. Complete trans to fan. Could be a runner, probably a good core at least. I am only in WI. Squablow has something to pick up in OH, I am sure pour some gas into his tank and it is a done deal.

Thanks guys. I will buy all of the MEL's I can find that are in running condition. I don't care if they are lincoln, mercury, or Ford or Edsel. They just need to be within two or three hours from here and in the $250-300 range.

I`m not that much farther out of range, Indy and back in far less than a day. My engine has a tranny as well,price is negotiable ,trades possible,other big blocks,suspension components. Jerry:D

I have a 462 out of a 68 Coni with a C6 tranny. It is not running, 12 bent pushrods, 8 bent valves, and one broke timing chain. Block, heads, and pistons appear to have no damage. Tranny suposively has a 2nd gear problem. It is complete from fan to tailshaft. The price is right, FREE!!! I just want to see it used instead of going to the scrap yard. Located in SW Oklahoma.
