I don't recall if it was here or on the main board, but a while back there was some discussion about the feasability of a lsr/drag race combo HA/GR. Anyway, I'm curious, does anyone have any info on this rail?

Never seen that one before but it looks as if it would come darn close as qualifing for both.
The trouble with building one for both is the heavier the Bville car is the better it handles. Weight is not good for the Hamb dragsters. I guess you could bolt on weight for Bville if thats legal.

Yes, it's legal and bolt on and movable ballast is used on most LSR cars. BTW- These pics were taken at the USFRA World of Speed last week, where they have 130 and 150 mph classes, which I assume this car was running, but really don't know. Here's another pic.

The motor looks like a newer motor maybe a ford 300, but I don't know how to tell, no experiance in that field. Ted have you blown up the pic and looked?

Maybe some of us Mid-South teams could go to the Texas mile next year. I've thought of this before. I could add a bolt-on belly-pan, that could be filled with water. With that extra weight down low, it would be hard to flip one.

This sure looks a lot like Glen Terry's old car. If it's the same car, here it is at Bandimere Speedway at the Flathead and Inline Nationals in 2004. What do you think?

Yeah, thats it, still has some of the same flames on the side panels, thanks, Jim. Checked the WOS results, and it is now owned by a fellow named Wayne Ray. It was entered in the 130 mph class, but appears he was having some problems on the salt, a couple of turn-outs and pretty slow speeds.

I was under the impression that weight was needed on the salt to keep the tires from spinning when you were pushing against the "wall of air" at high speeds.
I don't know that weight would be an issue on the asphalt at the Texas mile.
Am I wrong on this?

No set class, 130-150 mph club. Kind of a run what ya brung deal.

Huh, when I loooked yesterday the red print wasn't there. "No rental cars allowed", LOL. What I was concerned about was the 7th rule from the bottom on the 150 MPH class. It says

"Driver must be licensed and vehicles must be currently licensed and street legal in their respective state."

So I was wondering how it would pass tech, as I figure it would go faster than 130.
