Ha Ha...I got a wicked care package from Denise this afternoon that included a big bag of chips, a bag of her WORLD FAMOUS Cookies...and a 12-pack of Pepsi!

Also went and picked up some vintage 110 film for my prehistoric Michael Landon/James Garner approved camera...so's we can shoot us some pictures along the way!

Also got a BOX of Denise's cookies for Kenny...she wrapped it real good with childproof tape...it oughtta be safe in our possession for the trip down there...we'll be too busy making like a couple of French tourists..."wee-wee"ing all over the place...with all that cola aboard to try and sneak any of chop's cookies!!

Just got home from a good night of visiting with Fat Hack,dirty T,and Choprods.Yes the dynamic duo-made it all the way to the sticks of northeast Missouri,without one call from the commisioner on the "HACK" phone! Thought I would post a few pics,and update thier mommys and others who might be worried of thier where abouts! Yea like anyone cared right! I think they are gonna hit my place on the way home,I get some more pics tommorrow.Heres the knights at the round table!

WELL-they are back on the road to Michigan .....was Glad to finally meet FatHack and DirtyT in person.
I enjoyed our visit and still cant believe we loaded that motor and trans in the back of a Lil Honda car!!!!

All joking aside,we had a great weekend and it was really fun to put a face to a name.It seems you know so many people from this site and it was really good to meet Hack and Dirty T.Its amazing how many great folks are on this baby,that speak the same language as we do.Now Hack has his,all powerful 2.8 and tranny, hope he gets it in the car and gets it going.If you want to see more pics,let me know,I have some more,but dont want to overload the post.The last we saw of them,they were headed straight west,back home to Mich. JUST made it home and hosed off the Road Funk from all that traveling this weekend!

First of all, a BIG, HUGE "Thank You" goes out to Choprods and Scarliner for their gracious hospitality, help and friendship...truly a couple of GREAT guys, and it truly was a treat to visit with you for a couple of days!

Also, Thanks go out to DirtyT for submitting himself and his vehicle to two days of relentless travel, torture and mental anguish! Man, did that car do the job...minus a few technical glitches...ah, but that will provide material for a Tech Post once the pictures get developed and scanned!

Thanks go out to Denise for her AWESOME "care package", which provided a steady supply of food and drink in between fast food stops on the highway! Your cookies RULE, Sweetie!!!

And of course, a genuine "Thanks goes out to all who contributed to fund this little adventure and motor-fetching mission! I don't know all of your HAMB handles from the names DirtyT listed as PayPal donors, but I thank you all...it was WAY COOL of you to do that!

Thanks also to Ryan, for providing us with such a great forum that naturally leads to networking and new friendships across the country, and across the world! Just want you to know that all your hard work is deeply appreciated!

Interestingly enough, the ride down there on Saturday was really pretty uneventfull...we spotted some old tin on the road and parked within sight of our travels...but nothing truly odd or funny...

The Weirdos were out in FORCE...we encountered a whole town of goofballs in northern Indiana...somethin' ain't right with that place...maybe they got a little bug spray in the water supply or something...ha ha ha ha...I don't know what else would explain the strolling gu...well, we'll wait for the PHOTO on that one...my, what you can find going on in a Taco Bell parking lot!

Then there was the dead kangaroo...but that was just a carbon monoxide induced Brain Fart on my part I think...went sumthin' like THIS:

Hack: "Holy Shit! There was a dead KANGAROO on the side of the road!!"

Dirty: "WHAT??? A kangaROO???!!!???"

Hack: "Yeah, Man! It was too SMALL to be a deer, and too BIG to be anything else!"

Dirty: "How 'bout a BABY deer?...they DO come in different sizes, you know?!?!"

Hack: (wrinkled brow, lost in thought) "Yeah...maybe...but it was shaped all funny."

Dirty (laughing) "YOU'D be shaped funny too if you met the bumper of a truck at freeway speeds!"

Okay, so it was PROBABLY a baby deer...but I still ain't convinced!

(Though, Bryan's car DOES take odd fits of hopping like a kangaroo on the highway...)

Damn BRIDGES!!!

The roads were cool, in every state except for MICHIGAN, of course...but the joints at the bridges in many areas provided us with the rough sensation of a carelessly placed Evel Kneivel ramp...followed by the metallic, clunk, scrape, BANG that ultimately spelled disaster for the entire exhaust system!

(I was busy scoping the Happy Nips on the hot skinny blonde in the red Mustang convertible at the rest area the FIRST time Dirty attempted a roadside repair on the exhaust system...damn, no way those were REAL...but Hoooollleeeyyy WOW...what that gal did for a skimpy green tank top!)

Oh, by the way...the stories are TRUE...not only are Michigan roads the most horrible, unsafe and downright SHITTY roads in the nation...the Rest Areas are over-run with...ummm..."alternative lifestyle" types!!!

The macho, burly biker guy in his suggestive leather on his rainbow-sticker equipped Harley got DirtyT's attention...while I had the experience of walking in on Adam and Steve gittin' all chummy in the pissitorium!! SHEEEESHHH! I think we'll stick to seedy truckstops and back-alley pit stops from now on within the borders of the Mitten State...safer that way!!

The trip was incredible...hanging with Choprods and Scarliner was a total blast, and we can't wait to go back on the way to the HAMB Drags...gonna be another fun weekend for sure...we'll just avoid a certain Indaiana town and ALL Michigan rest areas...and we'll bring one of the old Chevys next time...hopefully!

Ha Ha...that bandanna thing was acquired in Illinois...tired of the wind-whipped hair, I bought that thing and tried it on. Looked in the mirror and said "Man, I look like a retarded Hulk Hogan!"

DirtyT did his best Butthead impression and said "It makes you look all tough and stuff!"

(But I ain't the one who wanted to put a COUCH on a HORSE with training wheels moments before I clicked off a picture of what the sunvisor looks like when you hit a bump at 100mph!!!)

Okay...so maybe I thought the idea of a plush and comfy family sized saddle was pretty amusing as well...the silliest things pop into your head when you've been in the car breathing exhaust fumes for too long...and the final run into Keeny's Town naturally inspires banzai style canyon racing manuevers...wicked twisty road with banked corners and shit! Dirty was making like Darrell Waltrip at Riverside circa 1975, and I went for a picture of the blurred landscape...we hit a bump and I think I shot the sunvisor!

"Someone through out a pretty cool couch!"

"Yeah, all you need is a porch!"

"A HORSE?!?"

"No, a PORCH, you idiot...to put it on!"

"Why would you put a horse on a PORCH?"

"No, the couch!"

"You wanna put a COUCH on a horse?"

It got all weird and stupid...laughed ourselves dizzy over it!!

It's good to see ypu guys got home safe and in tact. There aren't too many places folks can keep up to date on others adventures and antics accross the nation like the HAMB!! Who'da ever thouhght a guy would have to cross 4 states to get a good cheap or free V6 Chevy!
