So I got to go through some old guys junk and found 3 Carter one barrel carbs that are "W1" model, if I remember right. And then a Stromberg with a three bolt base, but it says 1-1/32 on the side of it. Was hoping it was a 97 but I don't think it is. Does any one know what these carbs are, or came on, and if the Carters are worth anything?

I have one of those on my 40... it uses that carb. If you dont want them I'd like to buy one off of you in case I go to a 2x1 setup later. I already got the Fentons with split exhaust.....

The Stromberg is likely a "48", used on '35 and some '36 Fords. Look on the left side of the main body--most have a small "48" cast into the side near the upper surface, for the Ford prefix #, and another "48" stamped into the upper back of the main body for the most common jet size.

The 48 is the one that flow the most of the stromberg's,
but it's sounds better to say that you have Stromberg 97's than Stromberg 48's http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Me myself have two Stromberg 81, and i ussually say that i have dual Stromberg carb's http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Hey thanks for the replies, I figured it may be bigger than a 97 because I read somewhere that a 97's veturi was 97/100's of an inch and my suspisciouns were correct.
I would get rid of the W-1's but they aren't complete, they are missing the linkages and some internals. The Stromberg is missing the linkage as well, but hey they were free.
