Now just how the hell is that possible?
IF they invented a particular shade of purple or came about some proprietary way of making the color, I could see that. But to blanket statement "tradmark" a color? Bullshit!
Hey, man, just doing my job...reporting news! I didn't pontificate any legalic ramifications!!!

Wow i dont understand how that can fly?? Hey RF what did you find out about ryans car that burned... also what is the color on the top of you car or is it super secret?? my brother has a 55 chevy and he wants a color like that for the bottom?? btw: I think you had the nicest 49-54 chevy in paso.

Just a HEADS UP, I trademaked the word "the". Start sending your user fees to me.
Looks like the SUNS will have to switch to orange and BEIGE.
Oh, and I am working at trademarking green so watch out ElPolacko!
So what you're saying is that I can no longer go into a bar and use my favorite pick up line, "Hey baby would you like suck my big PURPLE end?"
I guess I'm gonna have to come up a new line, it stinks because the old one got me so much action.

Well, I guess that means we will have to spell their word "perpull" and your word "tha" from now on now won't we? That way we can skirt the issue of royalties, huh?
Maybe we should all trademark something and we'd make a bunch of dough on law suits of trademark infringements.
What is this world coming to...anyway? Hmmm..."world"...uh huh!

It's blueish-purp...wait, it's just blue.

Crayola should have done that since they had all the shades covered. Now I guess they will be paying royalties to Royal Purple.

I think that just stops other oil companies from using the color Purple for any of their products.
The same way Dewalt trademarked Yellow and Black.
The color become synonymous with the Brand.

I think you holding on to it to tight I dont think its supposed to be purple
wonder if anybody would give a purple shit if I trademarked 60's Style?

Okay, just to set the record straight:
Porter, TX (June 25, 2004)—After several years in the review process, Royal Purple has received a federal trademark for the exclusive use of purple containers. Now, Royal Purple’s high-performance, synthetic automotive and industrial lubricants are the only lubricants that can be packaged in purple containers.
Dennis, you don't have to worry about putting a Royal Purple patch on your wool coat, that is unless you got oil in it!

Hypothetically I was working on a Dale Earnhardt TV movie that I am not supposed to be talking about...and his wife trademarked "3". But that's the name of the damn movie!!! So we were to use "Three" instead, but it's still pretty weak.

when you trademark something- it is used to identify the manufacture, ei. the coca-cola logo, disney logo- you cannot trademark just the color used in the logo.
you can trademark the work "purple" as part of your logo.
That's just plain retarted, whatever their trying to pull.
Colors paint-print media colors are copyrighted through the Pantone color system- you'd be a fool to challenge that company

Whew, that's a load off.
I'm leaving here in a few to go to Nancy's Guns and Knives Bar for happy hour. I've had my eye on this toothless skank that rides a Honda Rebel, I know my line's gonna work on her because she's deaf in one eye.
If I get laid I'll give you a report. She wears a Hot Topic skull & crossbones bandana to hide the lump on her head from the recontructive surgery she had when she fell off the ugly tree.
Gawd I'm so dang hot for her.

The trade mark is intended for specific use only. For instance you can trademark for clothing or publishing etc.
There is a website I don't recall the url that lists trademarks and their intended use. A search for Trademark would find it for you.
There was a guy that trademarked his name a year or so back. He used it to get out of a traffic ticket. Said the officer couldn't use his name as it was trademarked. Threatened a bunch of money on trademark infringment and if I recall they dropped his ticket.
Now on the upside you won't be seeing too many purple cars winning AMBERs or RIDDLERs these days. Because anything high profile would draw thier attention.
Sooooo Sad http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I was afraid to say anything becuase I am now a copywrite enfringement. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I guess I will now have to display thier trademark info in my tagline. Now for some prose.
There once was a man named Erkle,
who squeezed real hard to make it purple,
he did it to long,
so it fell off,
he then sreamed and ran in a circle
