Hello all,

My name is Robert and I live in Pittsburg, KS about 15 min from MO-KAN raceway near Joplin, MO. I just stumbled on this board, and though I've been on the net about 7 years, I'm new to this message board thing. Hope I'm posting this in the right place. My ride is a 1958 Pontiac Bonneville mild custom, 370ci Tri-power, BW T-10 4-speed, Ford 9inch (after shelling the old one racing), sky-lookin' tuck and roll. http://community.webshots.com/s/image3/4/57/21/92245721JcMyAX_ph.jpg http://community.webshots.com/s/image3/4/57/43/92245743OGBCIF_ph.jpg Webshots page of my Bonneville (http://community.webshots.com/album/92199019jcvDJw)

Well I guess we'll be seeing you at the drags then. And I dig the Pontiac. Was it an original manual tranny car? or did you convert it? I was looking for a clutch pedal assembly forever for my '57 Buick and never found one...

Welcome to the board. You'll find a bunch of other Poncho owners here. I myself am workin on a '37 4 dr Pontiac. I like your ride, a very nicely executed mild kustom. I noticed a shot that looks like the '54 Bonnevile concept, I just recently had the chance to see that thing upclose. Pretty wild for the day. Well I'll see ya 'round Jason

It had the 4 spd and bucket seats when I got it, I think it was original, but some people disagree. I have a pic of one that came from the factory that way.

Welcome from yet another Poncho guy. Mine's a 41 bidness coupe. It's still got the stocker engine in it but I built a 60, 389 [+0.030] for it with a muncie 4 speed and a 57 Poncho rear axle, 3.23 posi from a 64 with shortened 64 Olds axle shafts....can't wait to get it all together.

I have relatives in that area. They're in Cherokee. Used to have a family reunion until great Uncle died. Been to Pittsburg more than once.

Welcome Robert. (Is it Robert or Bob? I know some Anthonys that are not Tonys. Just curious.) There is always room for another Pontiac here on the HAMB. I look forward to seeing your '58 at the Drags. I'll be there with my '57 (all late model drivetrain). I'll share a few lies with you then. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Robert or Bob either works for me. I switched to Robert at work cause my boss's name is Bob and too many times I'd hear "Damn that Bob.."
