Just wanted to say hey. I have been working on my 55 chevy 4 door for about 6 years now. It is getting close to being on the road again. I have just graduated from SJSU (San Jose State) with my photo degree. I am looking forward to getting to the Asphalt Invitational and meeting members.

What have you done to it, what are your plans for it, etc. How old are you? How long have YOU owned it? What got you into old cars? How'd you find the HAMB?
Welcome.

Thanks for asking. The 265 is rebuilt with S/R Torquer 305 heads that have been fully ported and polished. It has, basically, the Performer Cam from Edelbrock and a performer intake. The carb is a Carter 500 CFM 4bbl. I recently purchased a 5 speed TKO from Forte's Parts and have been putting that and the newly rebuilt engine into the car. A new 3.5" aluminum driveshaft connects the TKO to the stock rear. Color is Turquoise and White with Black and White interior. I am hoping to lower the front a few inches and drive it A LOT! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

i forgot to answer a few questions. I am 23 years old and the title has been in my name since my dad bought it for me my senior year in high school. (edit: might not be in my name, but we have owned it since 97) We scored it for 1000 complete with engine, trans, full interior and stainless.
I love old cars; they have tons of personality and i feel they have more emotion and history in them. My family has always been into muscle cars and american performance. Right now in our driveway and garage we have:
99 SS Camaro- Mom
94 Z28- Younger Brother (22)
96 Tahoe- Mom
76 Dodge Californian- My daily driver, best truck evar! haha
67 Mustang fastback K-Code- Shelby American swapped in a 390 and C6 and used it as a factory car
and my 55
Lastly, i think i saw a link to this site from LS2.com a message board about modern GM muscle, Corvettes, GTOs, Camaros, and Trans Ams.

Judging from your list, your "muscle car" roots, and your plan to lower just the front of the car "a few inches" I will suggest that you SURF the shit out of this message board, and Mart's Real Hot Rods, and any others that are linked from the main page, so you know exactly what "traditional" means.
It sounds like you may not be on the same page. Even if you aren't, this is a great place to learn about cars, but consider it fair warning, if you start making posts about how great Cragers look with the new graphics decals and bullet hole stickers, and what's the best way to Pro-street that Chevy, you WILL hear about it.
Welcome.

Sounds like Dad's not hurtin' for cash. Will he adopt me and buy me a '57 Olds? I'm old for an adopted kid but I can still mow the yard with the best of'em. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And since I have to give another Dodge truck driver a break, welcome to the HAMB and feel free to browse our gift shop. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
But I doubt you saw a Trans Am link on here unless it was pokin' out of someone's posterior on their way out the swingin' doors.
