Can anybody help.
I have a complete flathead and tranny in one piece in Coleman TX. I need it to be in Largo FL before the guy who's storing it for me trips over it too many times and shoves it outside.
I tried the freight companies, they want WAY too much to ship this thing (more than it's worth).
If anybody from TX is going to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona in Nov. or coming West and has room in a pick-up or on a trailer, please let me know. I can meet you anywhere in the outer red circle (about 6 hours away from me) in FL with my Pick-up and a cherry picker to transfer from one vehicle to the other.
I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount towards getting it closer, but I don't know what condition the block is and don't want to waste too much money finding out.
Here's the promised maps:

Here is the best I can do. (For now) Coould get it to Shreveport in 6-8 weeks.
I could go get it and store it just to the north of the D/FW Airport.
This would give you time to figure out your schedule.
Gets you 150 + or - closer for now and about 300 closer in 6-8 weeks.

It looks like its only 3 hours away from the Kontinentals day at the drags in Temple. Maybe someone could relay it to the drags and then another could bring it to your outer circle. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Preferably not out into the Gulf..., it may be mistaken as a drug transfer and shot out of the water! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Although the engine would be towed into the nearest Florida DEA office as evidence and then you could just pick it up at the office! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
But I don't know how long you'd have to wait or if you would have to bail it out? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Worth a try!!! Anyone going to the drags that might have room in their rumble seat????? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If some one is comming to Cruisin the Coast next week I could pick it up and store it for a while in Lucedale, MS (just north east of Mobile) till you can get it.
