Hello.
I'm 38, married, two kids, another on the way, ( just found out ) My wife is a School teacher and we live in Huntsville Texas.

I do not have a Hot Rod,yet! I know very little about working on cars, but I want to. I would really enjoy working on and driving a vehicle that I built.
I've been a Peace Officer for 17 years and thats about all I know. My Father-in-Law has been building hot rods for years and the man can repair, build just about anything. I've been to a few car shows with him and have met a few HAMBers, super nice folks.

I've only been on the HAMB a short time, but I'm hooked I've laughed, I've cried and I've learned so much. ( which wasn't hard, since I knew nothing ) When reading post sometimes I have to make notes, to ask my Father-in-law to explain.

I plan on starting off small, doing minor work to my daily and if it doesn't blow up I'll move on to slightly bigger projects.

Thank you for allowing me onto your forum.

Welcome to the H.A.M.B.! Congrats on having another on the way. The youngin's sure take away time and the money$ from working on cars. My advice is to collect cool parts and ideas while raising the family. Then when the kids are out of school, you will have the time to put them car projects together. Do spend as much time as you can with your family.

Guys, this is my son in law. A lot of you have met his 7yr old, Hayden, who goes to swap meets, etc with me. smittyshotrods has known Hayden for about 4 years now, he is @ the Conroe Swap with me every year, Keith went last year.
Nice intro Keith. See you in a couple of weeks.

Welcome from San Angelo! You have come to the right place. Don't waste a lot of money on car mags (except ones like Rodders Journal) and use the saved cash for parts. Everything you need to know is here on the HAMB....just ask!

Absolutely agree, but my kids love working on the rods with me, and I sure have fond memories of working on rods with my father. So make sure to take advantage of that aspect.
