Anyone know how many Buick Special 2 door post (NOT hardtops) were made or where I could find out?
I could get my hands on yet another Buford - but I would hate to cut up a rare find. I have been doing some searches for more info but all I can find is the hardtop stuff. Are these rare?

well that's not rare at all....mmMMMMUUUHHHAHAHAHA
http://buicks.net/ can break it all down for you. There is a chart on teh left side, pick your year.
The '58's are pretty cool. They show the excess that was going on in the late 50's. I believe it gets an award for most chrome on a Buick ever....

That is a really well done and informative site. Thanks guy. I wish all makes and model had one that good.
Hey does anyone know what these kinds of rides ought to go for? There is one in the neighborhood that would be worth getting but the guy wants like 8 grand for it and it is a little rusty, needs a bit of glass, and otherwise is pretty much stock. I think he's stoned for wanting that much as I have seen them in Hemmings in about that condition for about 4 grand. Any ideas?

yep, 11566 is right. the Special is the bottom of the five series range & $8k is a ridiculous price for one unless it were a LOW mileage lovely example. I've imported four 58 Buicks into the UK here & they're GREAT cars. If you need any other info friend, just drop me a line. Here's a pic of my Limited Coupe & Limited Convertable ( since moved to Sweden )
Those also have the most square footage of chrome any car ever made according to a book I have. They also used to call them B 58 Buicks. As in big as a bomber plane
