Thanks for the successful registration. But, I jumped on without introducing myself. I have been duly corrected and hope to amend my “premature interjection”.
Anyway, I have read the postings on the H.A.M.B. and have learned a lot. I enjoy using junkyard parts or stock parts retrofitted to fit my need. For example, I converted my 68 Pontiac from an automatic to a manual transmission, setting up a hydraulic clutch with parts available at the local auto store and a little (okay, maybe a lot of) fabrication, and a 3 speed transmission from… I don’t know what it’s from!
This may get me flamed by the Pontiac crowd for modification indiscretions or by the true pioneers because my ride is not old enough. I only hope that my crafting meets the spirit of the site.
I don’t get to wrench often because I am in the military and spend way too much time in places that make me appreciate the United States. But, even my wife knows the energy I get from a Saturday morning walk through the junkyard and the excitement I have for making pieces of metal stick to each other!
Don’t have a cool log on name. Where I come from you are not allowed to pick your own nickname. These are usually chosen from an infamous goof-up or embarrassing indiscretion.
I’ll just let that hang.
Well, thanks for bringing me on. I enjoy the site.
