I need to buy a rear window seal for my chevy..the one i used the shoebox backlite in.

I have the stainless trim for the window, i think it's for the deluxe model..

Anyway, seeing as how i have no clue who to call for it,
do any of you guy's know where i can get one??

Maybe a phone number, of company name??

I'm close to having the body done (finally), and want all the stuff to assemble it when i shoot the paint on....
Thanks in advance

I might be able to help Tony....would 53 and 54 have the same?....2 door post car? I can call a friend tomorrow to see if he has anything like you need if ya want...I'd give you his number but he might not be exactly hospitable.

so, do you need the rubber for a chevy window, or a shoebox window? If for a shoebox, I got my weather stripping for the one i had from dennis carpenter reproducctions. They have a good website too....dunno about the chevy rubber if that's what you need.

try www.steelerubber.com (http://www.steelerubber.com) They've got a 500 plus page catalog of weatherstrip, rubber, etc.

I used Dennis Carpenter for mine. Steele rubber is great but it's about half again as expensive as Carpenter.

Obsolete Ford in OK has a BAD reputation for customer service.
Ask Roothawg.

That's because they don't have any customer service!
Dennis Carpenter is my favorite source for the box.

MAC's right Lockport has them. They're $54.95 each.

8A-7042084-A - No chrome provision.

8A-7042084-D - Single Groove

0A-7042084-A - Double Groove

Look at what you have (had?) for rubber around the window and match it up.

The toll-free number is 1-800-777-0948.

The Niagara car show and swap meet is this weekend at the Niagara County Fair grounds. MAC's is usually at that show. If you and Babs want to join me and my dad we're heading up there on Saturday afternoon or Sunday AM if we can't make it on Saturday. If you'd like you can slap me some cabbage and I'll pick one up for you. The Niagara show is very close to the MAC's store. We can stop and pick one up.

Mike,
THANKS a lot for the info!
Unfortunately, i'm not going to be able to make it either day. Sat i'm working in the am, and i'm busting ass on the 53 as long as i can. And sunday i'm helping move the stuff from my aunts place...
If you and dad don't mind, as long as Mac's isn't too far from the show, could you pick it up for me???
I'll buy wings and beer next time at the 'Tub' http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Bob, thank you too for the offer!! And if Mike can't , i may take you up on it..

Now, one and two groove's..Hmmmm
didn't know that..
Mine looks like both ends of the trim slip into the rubber.
Is that the two groove????

Tony...
