OK So Me and My big mouth took on a challenge speaking for people other than Myself.The 40 Ford and the Merc will not be at the nos drags. I thought it would get some enthusiasm going but it takes more than just that. The 40 just wont make it. The body is off the chassis and the owner had surgery just last week and is still recovering.Hasnt felt good in a while. The Merc aquired a knock, cracked piston or ristpin.FEDSLED has been workin since the middle of May
with only 2 weekends off since then and hasnt had the time to tear it down and fix it.Hes workin this weekend also. So lesson learned I will only speak for Myself.
However I am working feverishly on My racecar. Its a nostalgia F/X car. If Kinsler gets Me my fuel injectors
back (they said the 12th) I will have them shipped overnight. That will give Me 3 nights to install it and get it fired off.
So PAUL looks like your the champ this year for the FE vs
Big Block chev showdown. You definitly have worked very hard and My hat is off to You.If I show up with My Mopar it would hardly be fair to grudge it against Your coupe.
Besides No DEATHROD would wanta piece of this. --FEDER

I still have it, the port flange surface was not milled to a perfect match for the heads.

the first time I installed it the gasket failed and dumped a few quarts of coolant into the crank case.

I replaced the gasket and knowing now what the problem was I am amazed the second gasket held.

but the damage had been done.

Racefab went through the motor,

I put it all back together, fired it up and almost imediately the gasket failed.

I took it apart and that was when I finaly noticed the mismatch.

it only ran a few seconds the second time and it doesn't look like I hurt it..

I will hang onto the cross ram and have it milled sometime in the future,

I think I should be able to have it cut to accept a .125 thick gasket verses the .06

standard thickness to get it back together.

I did like the look but this should be ok too.
