Either 86 the trim all together and fill the holes, or find trim from another 50s ride and use it.

If it were me, I would just pull out all of the stuff that I didn't need, clean it up a bit, put in some stuff I got laying around to personalize it a bit, then freshen the motor up (if you want to keep it). Then I would drive the shit out of it until I break and have something to fix or until inspiration hits me on what else I want to do to it. That's just me though.

It doesn't take much to make those Fords better, a shave here and there and a drop, that should do it.
It's hard to beat those olds tailights. Here are the clean frenched units on HAMBer Ron's ford.

This what I would do:
1. Peak and french the headlights
2. Shave, nose, deck the car
3. Satin Black paint
4. Taillights??? Us 56 Olds 98 laying trim side up or 57 Packards
5. Lower it, slam some skirts on it
---and---
6. A set of flame throwers...
7. As for the grill, sell me the stocker grill and put a floating bar in there.
8. Additional info: Satin color finish w/ some watson style scallops
9. CHOP IT!!!...take out wrap around rear window and put a small one from a shoebox or 1949-1951 plymouth....or custom make a small oval porthole to put in there!!!!!
Hope that helps.

An olds or chrysler grille bar would look really good.cruiser skirts would also be a nice touch. 53 olds tail lights. You can french the stock head light rings and it's pretty simple to do. I really like carson tops on these cars as well. How about some 55 pontiac side trim?2 tone paint?

Little chop action, some sectioning, lowering and smoothing...
ALWAYS dig that era Ford, great starting point, Slaz! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've always wanted a 52-54 ford tudoor. I think they make exceptional mild customs. I wouldn't do much to the body---nose and deck but I'd leave the side trim. I'd remove the bumper guards and have the bumpers replated. 3" blocks with a coil or 2 cut up front and a little rubber rake. I have yet to see one chopped that looked good to me. I'd leave the top alone and pleeeeeeeeeeeze.......no skirts, no fakey spotlights, screwey antennes, hokey-ass lakes pipes or phoney/baloney connentinental kits!!!!!! Same goes for sun visors.
Gimmee a set of very mildly reversed painted rims with 53 ford center caps and 2" whitewalls. Paint the car in mint green gloss or semigloss and paint the rims to match.
A little pinstriping on the hood and deck would be enough. Stripe the dash as well.
I like the stock 54 grilles just fine but a fresh chrome tube grille makes the car look wider....not a bad look either.
A lumpy sounding F.E. with a top loader 4 gear and a Granada 9" rear would work for me. Stock headlights and tailights are already "space-shippy" looking and need no improvements. Off white tuck and roll works inside and you gota car that I'd like...Mild, yet sinister.
